After watching a sunrise in RMNP, I headed back down the trail and found this weather over Longs Peak.
Well... once again I felt like messing around in my Lightroom again last night before I fell asleep... and this is what I came up with. This day was a very dramatic one at a local Golf club. The sky was something else and I took some of the best shots to date over there. Don't worry folks I will be uploading more from this scene later on in original format w/o major effects.... lol I will be pretty busy this morning with meetings but I may be able to visit Flickrland at some point today. I not so sure yet....
Shoreham is a village in the valley of the River Darent.
Valleys
Stones and gravel grind the river's bed, gouging out a narrow V-shaped channels. In areas of softer rock, such as sandstone and chalk, rivers erode the rock more quickly and dramatically than in areas of hard rock , such as granite.the river Darent used to be deep enough for the Romans to sail up the river to Shoreham from the river Thames.
Dramatic golden sunrise today at 6.44am, my first winter sunrise
Looks like the sky is on fire with those heavy dark clouds!
It only lasted a few mins and turn into a beautiful sunny day in Sydney.
Have a Happy Saturday!
Keep smiling... :)

After all the dilly dallying with the horses, the ditches, the interesting clay tile area, and stopping to get some shots on the approach to the dunes we finally got to the dunes around 10:00 AM. The sun was too high for the oblique lighting and the clouds were building up making the whole area kind of uniformly lit. It was grey overcast light but we were still in a state of bliss. This was gorgeous and we were in love with it immediately.
Marie and I stayed within sight of each other but explored semi-independently. We usually talk about this or that, but we were both nearly wordless, just enjoying the awesome sights of this awesome site.

Right on time... Nice billowing thunderheads forming early afternoon. Nice structure on these storm cells forming just to the east of Epcot that afternoon!

I tend to shoot at Dutch angles much of the time anyway. Some people hate a crooked horizon, but I've always thought they give a composition some dynamism. I was shooting a spool of thread atop this jewelry box, and got the bright idea that the keyhole on the box itself might make an interesting subject.
Similar composition to a previous upload but this time with different light. Probably even a bit more dramatic.

Dead tree. Treborth Road, Bangor, North Wales.
Grey and damp days have been the norm for a couple of weeks now and that means an opportunity to photograph this beautiful gnarly tree which is dead from the bottom of its trunk upwards. I hope it never gets removed as it is really eye catching and quite majestic when seen from the road as you drive by.
Dramatic light brings out the textures of the Quiraing range.
The Quiraing is a landslip on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It's unique geological shape makes it a popular destination for artists, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. It is one of the most popular attractions on the Isle of Skye
