"Adam-12 was a television police drama which followed two police officers of the Los Angeles Police Department, Pete Malloy and Jim Reed, as they patrolled the streets of Los Angeles in their patrol unit, 1-Adam-12. Created by Jack Webb who is known for creating Dragnet, the series captured a typical day in the life of a police officer as realistically as possible. The show ran from 1968 through 1975, and helped introduce police procedures and jargon to the general public in the United States of America.
A realistic style police drama following the lives of two officers of the Los Angeles Police Department, veteran Pete Malloy and his rookie partner, Jim Reed. Each episode of the series covered a variety of incidents that the officers encountered during a shift, from the tragic to the trivial.
Adam-12 was the first TV series to more realistically portray the joys and frustrations of being a police officer in the late 1960s through middle 1970s. It's been a long time coming and downtowners eagerly are awaiting the reopening of Angels Flight, the funicular railway between Hill Street in the Historic Core to the California Plaza atop Bunker Hill. In fact, people are so eager that last week the Downtown News wrote an editorial saying "it is time for local government officials to insert themselves into the process so the funicular can reopen," citing a 2001 tragedy that killed one and left the "shortest railway in the world" stagnant as they rebuilt, financed and began to get ready for a reopening, which should be soon.
In response to the downtown paper, Dennis R. Luna and John H. Welborne from the Angels Flight Railway Foundation fought back and had their side of the story reprinted. The government is already "intimately involved" and there is no need to bring in the city or Mero, they say. "Angels Flight will reopen soon, but only after experts certify it is safe for the unique funicular to do so and the [California Public Utilities Commission] concurs. Involving additional non-expert elected officials or city or county agencies (including the heavy-rail and light-rail experts at Metro) is not the way to clear hurdles and speed the reopening."
In fact, they say that when city hall got involved with Angels Flight in 1962, it was open for seven years, then closed until 1996 when the foundation took it over and ran it "16 hours every day, seven days every week and 365 days every year. Over 800,000 passenger trips were clocked each year, for a total of 4 million passenger trips in the five years following the 1996 reopening." And all while keeping the fare at a quarter per ride (they secured outside money, too), which they hope to keep the same when it opens this year.

Wishing on a Star is a Eco-kinetic solar sculpture created by Charles Dickson out of his Compton art studio. The UPF(United in Peace Foundation) hosted a Peace Ride on July 28 in memory of the slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
Hundreds of Bikers, lowriders and classic cars road from the Leimert Park area to Magic Johnson Park. The ride was also dedicated to the thousands of mothers and fathers whose youngsters have been gunned down in senseless violence throughout the country.

While in my back yard helping my handyman with some work he was doing I heard a lot of cars blowing their horns right before the crash but when my air compressor came on little did I know that was the moment of impact. The driver of a white Ford van going north on the south bound side of Crenshaw Blvd. struck 2 cars with the Lincoln and it’s occupants receiving the brunt of the force from the collision. The couple that were in the Lincoln had to be freed from their vehicle with the Jaws of Life by the L.A.F.D. The crash which took place around 2:25p.m.Tuse. 9/30/15 at the intersection of 54th street & Crenshaw blvd in the Angeles Mesa area near Leimert Park of South L.A. The driver of the gray Cadillac was uninjured and the driver of the van and driver and passenger of the Lincoln are reported to be in critical condition per NBC News. The investigation was reported as still on going to determine why the van was traveling the wrong way.

It took 80 firefighters a little under an hour to put the fire out. The main building was completely gutted by the fire. The south wing of the church facility and Bethesda Senior apartments/home next door suffered little or no damage. LAFD Arson Investigators, FBI and the ATF are still looking into the cause, but fire officials say the fire does not appear to be criminal in nature, and there are no signs of foul play at this time. 7 months earlier I was just two blocks east and got pictures of another church fire in the HYDE PARK area at 11th Ave. & 48th st. Galilee Baptist Church was completely gutted by a fire. I still can't get a clear answer as to what caused that fire. If anyone knows for certain please leave a comment.

Fort MacArthur, a U.S. Army post which guarded the Los Angeles harbor from 1914 to 1974. The Museum was established in 1985, and it is housed in the corridors and galleries of historic Battery Osgood-Farley.
At fort there were four batteries housed at the site and each battery is protected under 12 feet of concrete, with walls from 16-30 feet thick. Each battery had a massive 14 inch seacoast gun. They were like disappearing rifles, coz once they fired they could retract back into loading positions and set up to fire again behind 20-foot thick parapets in less than 22 seconds....... peek-a-boo I see you...... 9 car wreck injuring 10 people at Crenshaw and Vernon in Leimert Park area of Los Angeles. Case of someone just driving too fast, I wonder if texting was involved.
Slauson aven and Western. I don't know what happen but as soon as I started flickin off pictures the Boyz n Blue showed up and made everybody go home. When I meet up with the classic truck, muscle car & street rod crowd we don't get hassled by the Man.
"We want to be free... Free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!" It started out with old classics and lowriders and Harleys converging on the bridge and a car show broke out. Ten some knuckle head brought unnecessary attention to the whole thing by lighting a smoke cannister / bomb. From the distance I guess it looked as if some one was doing a burn out. The L.A.P.D. comes and breaks up the show. But as the photos prove the SHOW still went on.... UNDER THE BRIDGE.
