There's a hole lot of love in the RAdish kitchen this week. Check out these delicious doughnuts. They taste like the real deal but they are baked and not deep-fried, which surely that means you can eat more of them, right?

3 kinds of doughnuts

European Doughnuts

Ingredients: 1 fresh yeast ¼ l milk, 50g sugar, 500g flour, 25g butter, 2 egg yolks pinch of salt, a glass of rum, for frying 1/2 l good oil.

Apricot or raspberry marmelade to inject.

 

In milk, add sugar, heat and crush yeast. In a bowl pour the flour add yeast, egg yolks and butter/rum. Knead the dough smooth and whisk until the appearance of bubbles and the dough is not sticking to the bowl. Leave in a warm place to rise for 30 minutes. Put on a board and roll into thick 1.5-2cm, and remove the donuts with the mold diameter 8cm.Leave in worm 1 hour to grow well. Carefully with a large baking spatula inserted into the hot oil. Fry in moderate hot in lot of oil, so they float. Turn after 2 minutes on the reverse side. Should remain a bright ring in the middle. With a pastry syringe inject apricot or raspberry marmalade in the brith ring.

Weekend coffee and doughnut are finished. Time to take the beans and go home.

Orange Creamsicle Doughnut: orange infused vanilla custard filling, vanilla bean glaze, confit of cara cara orange & kumquat, citrus granola, refreshing blood orange gel

 

The Popeye Doughnut: spinach and ricotta cheese stuffing, balsamic vinaigrette dip, crispy phyllo dough cracker, marinated feta cheese, capers & fresh dill

 

Sia for Dessert Doughnut: butterscotch pastry cream, Sia Scotch Whiskey glaze, chocolate cake crumbles, shattered toffee pieces, almond shortbread cookie

Isn't it *always* doughnut time?

Ingredients:

 

3 1/3 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour

1 cup applesauce

3/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons shortening

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

Vegetable oil

Cinnamon-sugar mixture, if desired

 

Directions:

 

1. Beat 1 1/3 cups of the flour and the remaining ingredients except oil and cinnamon-sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, until blended. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in remaining 2 cups flour. Cover and refrigerate about 1 hour or until dough stiffens.

 

2. Heat oil (2 to 3 inches) in deep fryer or 3-quart saucepan to 375ºF. Divide dough in half. Place half of the dough on well-floured cloth-covered surface; gently roll in flour to coat. Gently roll dough 3/8 inch thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Repeat with remaining dough.

 

3. Slide doughnuts into hot oil, using wide spatula. Turn doughnuts as they rise to surface. Fry 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Carefully remove from oil (do not prick surfaces); drain on paper towels. Sprinkle hot doughnuts with cinnamon-sugar.

Hmmm...Chocolate Iced! One of my favorites!

My favorite Valentine's candies are the Sweetheart Conversation Hearts, which are not available this year. I also love doughnuts. Krispy Kreme made my day ❤️

Doughnuts christmas edition.

My wife and I have been out and about visiting my sister and brother-in-law and then off doing a little shopping - such an interesting and busy day!!

 

Now home and time for a mug of coffee and a little something beginning with D ~ yes, haven't had a doughnut in ages!!
