An inquisitive roe doe in a field at the summit of Aggs Hill in Gloucestershire. This is the same animal that I uploaded a few shots of last week.
Fur still damp from a recent rain, this young lady is alert but very happy with her spot in the grass.
i know she thinkin' now she found herself a winner.

It is so unexpectedly amazing to have the opportunity to capture wildlife closeup and personal... a family of deer were grazing off the foot path and allowed me the grace to capture...
A Doe has been visiting my neighbors Apple tree for the past few days. I call her “Jane”.
I snapped a few quick frames. This one I wanted her to stand out so I did the unthinkable. Selective color. 😱
I don’t use it often so hopefully I don’t get blasted for it. ♂️
A doe forages on the edge of a thicket on Black Bayou Wildlife Area. No sudden movements and she's attentive but not too fearful.

Not one of my best however I am still learning the basics with the Nikon D850 and had a long lens on in low light so I have areas of over and under exposure, working on that.

My son took a photo of me taking a phone shot of a Mule Deer Doe. The top photo is the photo I was taking.
We have a bed of native Alberta plants in our front garden, junipers, aspens, prickly roses, kinnikinnick, shrubby cinquefoil, and fireweed, it gives us a reminder of what we see in the beautiful foothills and Rockies to the west. BUT, it also attracts local deer onto our residential street, and I was able to get these captures recently. Sadly, the doe that you see here has an injured leg, but she seems to be managing, and I'm hoping having native plants available to her in the middle our community has been a tiny help to her. Kudos also go to all the nearby residents with dogs who do not let them loose: we haven't seen a dog lost and at large for years.

So I was out in the fields last night. When at dusk this doe spots me from afar, stomps her foot a couple of times and slowly walks down wind from me. In about 10 mins she positions herself so she can get a good whiff of me. She didn't seem to mind my scent, as she walked even closer
captured on a 'game camera'....probably most common for a doe to have two youngsters although it can be one to three....
Roe deer doe at dusk, during the days around midsummer you were able to shoot until 10PM with the light becoming softer the later it gets. This roe deer doe was very relaxed between the dunes feeding on bushes and grass untill a dog off leash chased her off. Although there is a leash duty along the whole coast of the national park most dog owners don't care and if you tell them about it they're getting mad at you. In the recent years it got even worse as the number of dogs is increasing steadily... the potential of conflicts will be growing - not every kind of wildlife will be fast enough to escape...

We were actually waiting for a stag when suddenly this curious doe stuck her head above the bracken to see what was going on.
