A Whitetail doe on a very cold winters day in Republic, WA.

I went to Prestwick Airport to spot airplanes but I managed to spot something else instead.

A female Red deer near Grigadale on Ardnamurchan. There were quite a few around and completely unfazed by us being so close.

Wishing you a great start of the week!

This is a doe which I see quite often. I have not seen her fawn yet but I hope to soon

Breaking all the rules by centering, but I like the lush green "border" here. :)

Female Eastern grey kangaroo keeping her baby warm on a frosty morning.

Finally getting some snow here in Colorado...(sorry, everything just rhymes today).

She looked up when she heard me!

A female deer..

Not sure who was more surprised when we walked by this doe. She was far from the hills and creeks... hope she made it back safely.

Congrats to the new DOE sisters!! 💙

I was taking a short hike on a trail through a densely forested hammock in the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve in central Florida yesterday when for some reason I stopped and turned around. Just 20 feet to my right, this little white tailed doe was standing in the edge of the cabbage palms watching me. She had let me walk right past her. When I stopped, rather than run away, she stood there watching seemingly as curious about me taking her photo as I was clicking away.

The photo is uncropped.

This pretty doe is a member of our resident neighborhood deer herd. Backyard wildlife.

A couple of the neighborhood deer. They don't run from you, they simply walk away. Mostly unafraid of humans. I mean, you can't hand feed them, but you can get very close to them and they won't get spooked--more curious than anything.

Thought I'd do a double post this morning.

Thanks for Viewing.

This doe has been grazing a Quadra property for some time. Yesterday evening she appeared with 1 fawn. We could hear another fawn mewing from the forest. She finally headed back in that direction and the mewing stopped.

This young Doe came in very close to check out the birds being hand fed. This is almost full frame with a bit cropped of the right side.

Next to last in my ungulate series. We found this pretty female pronghorn nine years ago on the plains of Wyoming. Wyoming has the highest population of pronghorns...about 400,000. Nearly 3/4 the total of people.

A week after I photographed a fine looking Roe buck I meet the same group of 5 deer in the meadows the following weekend. This time as you can see I was able to photograph one of the lovely Does.

One of the many female deer in amongst Richmond park, the target of the many males affection this time of year and the reason behind the fighting

Big Human and I went to do a photography workshop at the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen today. It was a birthday gift from my mum - it is fun to get an experience instead of stuff :) We were too advanced photographers for the workshop but we had fun. It was gorgeous and we saw lots of fallow deer. I was waiting for this doe to frame herself in between the trees. Photography was different because it was very fogged up outside.

Mule deer doe at sunset - We were out hand-seeding some bare areas around our pond when this lady wandered by. Of course, I had the camera on me. I'm pretty much never outside without some sort of actual camera!

Settings: ISO 125, f/6.3, 1/640s, 277 mm

Shot handheld.

This doe is familiar with me and the look of surprise on her face was so comical to me because our paths crossed in a different area than normal and when I began talking to her she perked right up.

the doe has tumors called fibromas. This is a mild case now but could look much worse over time. Fibromatosis is a common skin disease of white-tailed deer, mule deer, black-tailed deer, and other Cervidae in North America. There is evidence that Fibromatosis is caused by a papilloma virus.
