This was my favorite piece at SFMOMA: David Ireland's A Decade Document, Withcomet, Andcomet, Andstool.
Much of Ireland's work was conceptual installations, one of which was the entire house he lived in at 500 Capp Street in San Francisco. This cabinet is from the bathroom there and within the cabinet are the paper tubes from the toilet paper rolls from 1980 -1990.
It never ceases to amaze me what pieces of artwork we are drawn to. An artist might have hundreds of paintings, yet a few will call out to us especially. And why, out of an entire big museum full of work, is my favorite thing a shelf full of toilet paper and some bathroom cleaner? And yet it is so.
Many modern object art pieces beg the question, "What makes this art?", of course. But alright, I accept this as art and I love it. And you may love it or think it's bunk. And you may love something that I think is ugly as sin. But why?
As always, this musuem visit has given me much to think about.

๚ะ (or ฯะ, called ankhan wisanchani or อังคั่นวิสรรชนีย์) is used to mark the end of lines in older Thai documents. Here the wisanchani takes a triple form rather than the more common ะ.

هذا الكتاب من الكتب الدقيقة و المهمة جداً حيث يحوي على ملاحظات دقيقة جداً تفيد من يرغب بالسفر في فلسطين و الأردن و لبنان و سوريا فالمؤلف قسم الكتاب إلى 16 فصل بحسب الطرق التي سلكها في تجواله في بلاد الشام فيبدأ رحلته من القنطرة باتجاه القدس ماراً بالعديد من المناطق و منها إلى يافا و من القدس إلى بئر السبع و طبعاً في هذا الطريق يمر من بيت لحم و الخليل و من الخليل إلى باب الواد وكما و يورد ملاحظاته عن كل طريق بالتفصيل ليبدأ بفصل جديد عن الطريق و السفر من القدس باتجاه عمان و المناطق التي يجب أن يمر بها المسافر كما و يبدي ملاحظاته المهمة للسفر من القدس للناصر و من الملاحظ أنه في أغلب الفصل اتخذ القدس مركزاً للانطلاق نحو المناطق الأخرى أما في الفص السابع يتحدث عن السفر من الناصرة لحيفا و من اللد إلى حيفا و منها إلى سمخ و هي منطقة قريبة من بحيرة طبرية و منها إلى دمشق كما و أن الفصل عاشر كان يتحدث عن السفر من الناصرة إلى طبرية و الفصل الذي يله كان للملاحظات التي تهم المسافر في السفر بين عكا و الصفد و قد كان الفصل الثاني عشر مخصص للملاحظات المهمة في السفر بين طبرية و صيدا أما الفصل الثالث عشر فخصص للتحدث عن الطريق بين طبرية و دمشق.
أما الفصل الرابع عشر فقد تحدث عن السفر من حيفا إلى بيروت مروراً بصور و صيدا وصلاً لبيروت و منها إلى شتورا فدمشق و هذا كان موضوع الفصل الخامس عشر ليختم الفصل الأخير بالحديث عن الطريق بين القدس و القنطرة
و الجدير بالذكر بأن الملاحظ قد اشتملت على لمحة مختصرة عن المدينة و المسافة و الزمن اللازم للتنقل بين كل مدينة و أخرى و المناطق التي سيمر بها المسافر في أثناء رحلته و غيرها من المعلومات المفيدة و الدقيقة

Leonardo Da Vinci's "Codex on the Flight of Birds" is on exhibit at the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C. until October 22, 2013. It rarely leaves its home at the Biblioteca Reale Museum in Turin, Italy. Leonardo produced the Codex in 1505-1506, and it's where he outlined a number of his observations and beginning concepts that would find a place in the development of a successful airplane in the early twentieth century. The document is displayed in the Wright Brothers Gallery, the same place as the Wright Flyer, which made the airplane a reality four centuries after Leonardo produced his Codex on the Flight of Birds.

Villa miseria, villa de emergencia o simplemente villa es el nombre que se le da en Argentina a los asentamientos informales caracterizados por una densa proliferación de viviendas precarias. Surgieron en la Argentina como consecuencia de la crisis del 30.1 Las masas de migrantes del interior del país y países limítrofes de la Argentina, son atraídas por las ventajas de empleo en el Área Metropolitana, estas constituyeron y constituyen las causas de formación de las mismas. Estas son imágenes de las tantas organizaciones que brindan ayuda a la comunidad de dichos barrios.

Villa miseria, villa de emergencia or simply villa is the name that is given in Argentina to informal settlements characterized by a dense proliferation of precarious housing. They emerged in Argentina as a result of the crisis of 30.1 The masses of migrants from the interior of the country and countries bordering Argentina, are attracted by the advantages of employment in the Metropolitan Area, these constituted and constitute the causes of their formation . These are images of meetings of the many organizations that provide help to the community of these neighborhoods.
늑대와의 생활을 가볍게 쓴 글이라고 생각했는데 아니었다. 공감, 유대, 슬픔 등의 감정은 인간과 동물이 공통으로 가지고 있지만 '고의'에서 비롯된 악은 영장류만이 가지는 생존 전략이라는 얘기. 그리고 사악함이란 무엇인가에 대해 이야기한다. 모두 전적으로 공감한다. (이 책도 사야겠네.)posted by yuna
