PHOTO DE RIMBAUD : JE SUIS L'AUTEUR DE CETTE NOUVELLE MYSTIFICATION
Je constate que certains journalistes sont plus avisés que d'autres. J'ai eu l'heureuse surprise de dénicher un article de Jacques Quentin fauxrimbaud.blogspot.com/ qui parle de moi avec grande lucidité... Je trouve fort flatteur qu'un journaliste (de province) un peu plus futé que les autres ait l'audace d'avancer une thèse fort pertinente à propos de cette nouvelle "découverte", à savoir que je serais l'auteur d'une énième farce médiatique à base d'Arthur ... Il faut dire que ce Jacques Quentin connaît bien son gibier : c'est à ma connaissance le seul qui a dénoncé en toutes lettres et sans la moindre ambigüité l'énorme plaisanterie izarrienne au sujet du "Rêve de Bismarck". C'était en avril 2008.
Cette fois je n'ai même pas eu besoin d'aller répandre des alarmes sur la toile en expliquant que je suis effectivement l'auteur d'un nouveau coup monté concernant cette photo : ce journaliste provincial à la tête froide s'en est chargé à ma place... C'est dire la profondeur de ses intuitions ! Il est vrai qu'il connaît bien son cher IZARRA, mystificateur obsessionnel à but strictement égocentrique : il ne me fait aucun cadeau quand il s'agit de me disséquer de sa plume tranchante comme la vérité, me sachant sur ce point aussi avare de pincettes à l'égard des exégètes crédules que je m'amuse à faire braire avec mes espiègleries rimbalesques de qualité quasi professionnelle répandues à grande échelle médiatique...
Mes détracteurs apprécieront.

LES DESSOUS DE LA PHOTO DE RIMBAUD : IZARRIMBAUD ?
Elle lui ressemblait comme une fille peut ressembler à son père.
Avec la bonne foi, la sincérité de son âme entière, de son coeur franc (fatalement lucides), le public ne s'y était pas trompé. La France était convaincue !
Sauf que les tests ADN avaient rendu leur verdict, pétrifiant : désaccord génétique total et définitif entre la fille et son prétendu géniteur.
La douche froide.
Qui ne se souvient pas de cette douloureuse affaire Aurore Drossard, fille imaginaire de Montand ? La leçon, authentique cas d'école, doit nous inciter à adopter à l'avenir la plus extrême prudence dans ce genre d'information où la subjectivité peut brouiller les pistes les mieux balisées.
Or, avec le dernier avatar concernant Rimbaud, nous sommes dans un processus médiatico-hystérique exactement inverse : cette fois ce sont les "spécialistes" qui, enivrés de doctes fumées, se sont eux-mêmes convaincus. Et de quoi donc me demanderez-vous ? Du pire : la mine patibulaire d'un Rimbaud aux antipodes de sa légende esthétique.
La pilule à du mal à passer chez les vrais-faux admirateurs du poète de Charleville qui, avec ce bon sens inné caractérisant les profanes et les ignorants, doutent.
La découverte de la photo date de deux ans. Troublant : à la même époque un certain Izarra criait à qui voulait l'entendre -et nul ne semblait vouloir prêter sérieusement l'oreille à ses élucubrations- qu'il était l'auteur du "Rêve de Bismarck", un autre inestimable trésor rimbaldien sauvé des rebuts d'un bouquiniste de Charleville-Mézières. Décidément, le hasard facilite bien des choses dans l'environnement de cet énigmatique Izarra...
Mais revenons à la tête de Rimbaud. Les spécialistes dont le fameux Jean-Jacques Lefrère se sont basés sur quatre de ses photos (plus ou moins nettes) déjà connues et reconnues pour établir un nouveau dogme avec cette vertigineuse certitude propres aux exégètes de leur niveau, élevés au pain blanchit. La farine universitaire a d'incontestables vertus de salubrité intellectuelle... Bref, c'est avec la même conviction, pour ne pas dire la même ferveur que le "Rêve de Bismarck" fut décrété authentique.
Rien n'est plus ressemblant à un portrait qu'un autre portrait, pour peu que le coeur s'emballe. On s'interrogera sur les méthodes employées par ces imprudents spécialistes cherchant à faire passer à la postérité le visage d'un parfait anonyme confondu avec Rimbaud sous le prétexte d'une enseigne d'hôtel en guise de (fausse) piste aux stars du Parnasse, de chasse aux mythes... Bertillonnage ? Identification judiciaire ? Tests ADN ? Les rieurs riront.
Les convictions pour le moins subjectives -autant dire hautement fantaisistes- de Jean-Jacques Lefrère et ses disciples sont une bonne gifle pour nous rappeler qu'à travers ce genre de révélation sensationnelle pleine de flou artistique lié à l'univers de Rimbaud, un Izarra peut toujours en cacher un autre.
Les érudits échaudés ajouteront : aujourd'hui plus qu'hier.
Méfiance donc.

Passed on May 20, 1862, the Homestead Act accelerated the settlement of the western territory by granting adult heads of families 160 acres of surveyed public land for a minimal filing fee and 5 years of continuous residence on that land.

Looking east along the backyard. River lily (Hesperantha coccinea) is the red on the right, "Oregon Sunset". Black is bugleweed, Ajuga reptans 'Black Scallop'. There are seedling carex, from toffee twist and something silver that I forget.

I picked up more than a score of what appear to be telemetry tapes from NASA in the 1960s. I suspect that they may come from NASA Ames. I rescued them from a scrap dealer.

Orienteringsoppgave: 19 m N for hovedbygningen på gården (23:1)
Beskrivelse: Reist bautastein av lagdelt bergart. Steinens mål: 1. 3,35 m, største bredde og tykkelse på midten: 36 X 20 cm, smalner av mot toppen til ca. 10 X 15 cm. På S-siden runelignende, tydelige tegn v/ festet, 4 synlige, 6-8 cm lange, ca. 1 cm. dype. På samme side av steinen, 2,4 m opp fra festet, er hugget inn "421". Tallene ca. 10 cm høye, vel 1 cm dype. 21 cm. over disse et kors hugget inn, h. 16 cm, dybde samme.
Tradisjon: Disp. Th. Overwien opplyser at steinen ble funnet i en grøft på eiendommen, ukjent hvor, omkring 1870, og at den sies å høre sammen med de to bautasteinene på Presthus (1529 B 18 R 2). De runelignende tegnene på steinen ble hugget for spøk av to menn tilh. gården (brødre av dav. eier ? ca. 1880 ?). De andre merkene kom til litt senere da steinen ble brukt som gravstein over en hund. Så ble den reist i et kvernhjul i hagen der den står nå.
Det ble henvist til fru byråsjef M.D. Holtan (kom.ing.) i Oslo ang. steinen.

These form only a tiny part of a vast hoard of documents relating to railway freight journeys, and also to excursions, all from rail companies that are no longer with us. A long-deceased friend, Harry Jamieson, told me that there was a little shed in the railway yard, where he had been working, and the little attic was loaded with documents. Knowing that the building was about to be demolished I hurried down and retrieved as much as I could of these historic documents, giving the vast majority (as soot and dust free as possible) to the Signal Tower Museum. According to an entry in the Springfield, Ohio History: "Another tale features Harry Knight, twenty-two, of Indianapolis, who drove a Westcott in the first Indy 500 in 1911. He was in third place after 196 laps when the mechanic of the car in front of him was thrown from the car. Swerving to miss him, Knight landed against the repair pit. Three wheels of his car were broken, and both he and his mechanic were injured."
