There's a display case in my church, which is full of relics.

By relics, I'm using the Roman Catholic meaning. "A relic is an object, especially a piece of the body or a personal item of someone of religious significance (a saint), carefully preserved with an air of veneration as a tangible memorial. ..." The word relic comes from the Latin word for remains.

These objects, are ensconced within small gold or other precious metal containers, and have certificates of provenance with them, identifying the object.

The case is called a reliquary, which simply means a collection of relics.

And, there I am, a living relic (no saint am I) in reflection of the real relics.

These were dumped behind the Spivey Building in East St. Louis. The one in the dumpster was a bit smashed, but the other one was still good.

I started a small s&p collection. Beau gave me the display case for my birthday. He also gave me some ceramic miniatures of a chicken, donkey, duck and pig. The cow head on the right holds my dog's leash. I'll post a close up pic soon.
