Despite my moaning, a part of me was looking forward to the challenge of months of night photography.
I don't mind the dark so much, but the absolutely constant teeming rain really takes the edge off any wish to tramp up to town or anywhere else, for that matter in search of targets.
As such, I rather expect to have completely exhausted my living room of stuff by Christmas. It will make insurance claims easier, I suppose.
Obviously, gesso wash is best when used on coloured images – because on mostly black and grey, it’s a seriously rubbish thing to use. There is hardly any visibility at all in this one, and I only used two coats. Either my gesso wash isn’t the right consistency or it doesn’t work well on dark images. I’m going for the latter because so far my coloured images haven’t been all that bad.
