DIFFUSER FILTER : This filter reduces contrast and as such can be used for taking picture with variable soft effects. As the filters soften the skin-texture, the portraits of ladies can be made very charming. Effects strongest with 50-100 mm or bigger focal length lenses at larger apertures.

I spent well over an hour with this guy. Found him on my deck, sticking out like a sore thumb. The biggest jumping spider I've found to date. I'm not sure of the species, I usually only see various Salticus Scenicus in my backyard, this guy was about three-times the size of them though. Haha!
I also took a whole lot of natural light photos, as opposed to using my home-made diffuser's. But using natural light in macro means less depth-of-field, which in turn meant this guy was hell-a-hard to focus on, especially getting his eyes.

Shorea laevis Ridl. Dipterocarpaceae. CN: {Malay and regional vernacular names - Balau kumus, Kumus merah, Kumus, Damar laut kuning, Seimbar, Selangan batu kumus, Mikai]. The native range of this species is S. Myanmar to W. Malesia (Borneo, Malaya, Myanmar, Sumatera, Thailand). A tree with a vast, irregularly diffuse, cauliflower-shaped crown; it is capable of growing up to 75 m tall. The stout, often twisted bole can be up to 240cm in diameter with stout, prominent buttresses up to 6 m high and 4 m outwards. Stem with resin. Stipules up to ca. 8 mm long. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, glabrous and shiny. Flowers ca. 5 mm in diameter, greenish-yellow, placed in panicles. Fruits ca. 10 mm long, green, with three ca. 30 mm long wings, wind dispersed. The tree is harvested from the wild for commercial use of its resin and timber.
