Nature's golden 'lightbox"

The lighting is barely making its way through the clouds. It casts a glow on St. Peter's that I just think is magnificent.

Trying out the Diffuse Glow again.

A diffuser in my room (inspiration was really gone those lasts days of my project!).

Diffuser abstract.

out of focus,confusion,coming closer.

This photo uses diffuse lighting because there is less contrast between light and dark. Although a light source is present, it is hard to tell where it is coming from because no shadows are present.

Press "L" to view on black - looks much better!

Blown out highlight on the eye and body :( Also the second highlight in the eye is from direct sunlight, probably best to shoot in the shade. The other highlights may well be from sunlight and not the flash too.

Testing out a DIY red diffuser on my new flash, made it out of red packing foam from a motherboard at work and an elastic band. The only light source was the flash in this shot.

Tests with an ND4 filter on a Voigtlander 25mm lens as wide as it can go, some shots are with a legacy pivotable strobe (sunpak auto-25sr) and the others are using sunshine.

The ND4 filter darkens the light coming into the lens allowing a lot more bokeh than would normally be possible at these bright levels of light.

FONKI-GARBAGE BEAUTY

Oslo's parliament building. I found myself in Oslo for the day on Monday this week. No time to muck around - first flight in, work, meeting, train, last flight out.

This was a snapshot taken as we hurried past on our way to the train station for the airport express train.

Here's a homemade device for diffusing direct sunlight for macro flower shots.

It's a piece of plexiglass fastened with velcro to a windshield wonder device. Then there's some diffusing fabric fastened with rubber bands. Then there's a second piece of diffusing material (foggy plastic), which can also be attached. I got the material from B and H for less than $10 per sheet ... enough for two diffusing devices.

The handle flips around; one way for transport; the other way for use in the field.
