Part of what is so intriguing about photography is the unique way that different exposures can fundamentally change scenes. This, for example, was the purposeful underexposure of a scene for a series of bracketed shots. But the heightened drama by imperfections in the lighting (dark, moody shadows, heavy vignette) made the image particularly stunning to me.

Recipe for Glorified Brownies - preheat oven to 375 degrees
1 cup chopped pecans (I don't use them cause kid doesn't like them)
1 12 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
2 cans Eagle Brand CONDENSED milk
2-3 teaspoons vanilla ( I use 3 cause I like it)
1 box, graham crackers. Take 3 of the long ones out...don't use them. Crush the graham crackers very well.
Mix all ingredients together. It will be so thick you will think you need Popeye arms.
Butter VERY WELL a 9x9 pan. Bake for about 20 - 30 mins. until golden brown and "set". They are oooey gooey good!
Eat and enjoy!! They are EXTREMELY rich!
I have just learned today (I took the photo yesterday) that our New Zealand variety is being re-classified because it's slightly different to the similar variety in the Northern Hemisphere. We have 3 varieties of Birds Nest Fungi in New Zealand.
You guys probably won´t believe me but this shot is taken 3 minutes and 3 meters from my previous post ( cloud crash ). This was the left sided view from where I was standing... Two different worlds apart :-)
The hummingbirds of Costa Rica are so beautiful and and come in so many different colors and sizes that one could be overwhelmed, You find different species in different areas which makes the photographic journey very exciting. From the highlands to the lowlands all have a special beauty . We will be going again in November which is our usual time so if any one is interested please contact us. It is a little paradise .
Wishing you all a beautiful and blessed Wednesday !!!

I always have a weak spot for people who dare to be different and when I meet such a person I want to photograph him of her. At first he was shy but I convinced him by telling him that I admire his unique identity. For me, the expression always counts. And then he was willing to pose, in his own way. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
He was very happy with the result and so was I.

NOVEMBER RAIN
When November skies cry out their pain
and Buddha's tears fall down as rain
the Autumn leaves fall down again
in burnished gold abandonment
capable of letting go
trees don't discern from friend or foe
but shed and scatter all around
their foliage carpet on the ground
we tread and kick the leaves up high
some catch the wind and reach the sky
others may adhere themselves to limbs
that look so bare as Winter slims
full-bodied landscapes; the art of Masters
water-coloured, oils and faster
splashes, dots like pointillism
paint generously the rainbow's prisms
the multi-coloured hues of Fall
the baring forests stand so tall
and quite prepared to give their all
to perfect bold abandonment
we relish change of seasons such
as this one with it's harvest much
and luscious, full and rosy lips
rose-gold kiss abandonment
poetic justice; fire and musty
apple wood, sweet and smelling ripe
lingers long and leaves us longing
for more to whet our appetite
In Summer most we see is sun
and feel the warmth upon our skin
but Autumn is a visual treat
to gift our eyes before we sleep
oh how I wish to hibernate
come Winter with it's threatening storms
and ice-cold winds that bite and nip
my fingers, toes as different forms
come bustling, breezing through the open
doors and floors are wet with melted
snow and ice; I long for nice
hot cocoa with a few marshmallows
pink and white, that soothe and mellow
warm the cockles of my heart
and smooth the feelings that depart
as Autumn falls and Winter beckons
with icy fingers; Jack Frost reckons
he can paint inside the glass
a pattern etched that will stick fast
and never touch it with your tongue
you'll stick and have to wait for Mum
to softly release you from this task
you set yourself; and you will laugh
at this sweet memory of your past
when your family was still complete
now scattered, lost or just divided
left behind where you resided
why did they have to go away
like Autumn leaves and Summer days
but come the Spring and come the thaw
you may hear knocking at your door
and those that left to travel wide
may smile and hug and step inside
Four Seasons by Vivaldi playing
inside your head and on turntable
round and round; spinning gently
another year; and there are plenty
yet to come now you are winning
plans can be made and find you grinning
the joy of life; the joie de vive
Buddha watches; never leaves
enigmatic smile; all-knowing
buds on trees will soon be showing
renewal; rejuvenate the Earth
a time for living; for what it's worth
and now you know it's worth a lot
a year you thought might bring your end
a borrowed year that saw you mend
a year that taught you; value friends
and live and love and laugh awhile
for peace begins with just one smile
and harmony's gift to Mother Earth
brings treasures full; beyond monetary worth
that only sweet abandonment
as with the trees that teach us much
to love; be loved is all enough
and letting go is not so bad
and will not always leave us sad
for like the trees begin again
so can we live through all our pain
and come the Spring we'll be reborn
and sprouting trees shelter us from harm
like the arms of Buddha and the arms of man
joined together in perfect sweet abandonment
giving thanks for all we have
letting go so there is more
for everyone to go around
we are united; we are found.

DB Cargo Shed no. 66102 gets ready to strut its stuff in front of a few moderately interested passengers as it rounds the curve into Leamington Spa station with the 9.45am Southampton Western Docks - Masborough FD (4Z69) containers.
Taken during a few days based at High Wycombe this summer, and my first visit to Leamington Station in decades. It's easy to see why it's popular with the railway snappers - a splendid GWR heritage station with art-deco references, plenty of freight traffic, a lush cottage-style garden tended by enthusiastic volunteers, and that all-important cafe.

We were on our way down another dirt road, this time toward La fortuna. We were an adventurous bunch and rather than stick to the highway, made our way through different pastures. The road we were on ran on the outside of a dormant volcano. And, it was abundant with lounging iguana out sunning themselves on the warm gravel.
Danxia topography looks similar to limestone topography as found in Guilin but Danxia is different in that the rock is sandstone.
it is today, that I am 20.000 days on earth.
I stole the idea from Nick Cave, who made a wonderful film with exactly this title.
I can highly recommend that film from my heart, as well as "One more Time with Feeling".
Nick Caves concert should have taken place in Berlin in May 2020, and I am still very sad that it had to be cancelled.

This was taken a few weeks ago when Barbs and I were on the way back from a trip to Plymouth. We intially tried to do different compositions to each other, but in the end decided the lighting and setup was easier to do from one spot, so we set up side by side for the same shot.
I'm still not up and running with a new computer yet (and won't be for a while due to fitting a new kitchen) but managed to grab a bit of time on Barb's laptop to finally process this one.
Taken at dusk and into the night. The lighter colours come from stacking/blending the dusk shots into the night frames.

Decided to post another from this great monument. I liked the processing of the other one so I kept a similar look.
A different shot from Silverbell Regional Park. I found out that the pond is actually called Silverbell Lake.
Now for those of you who live in the Southwestern US this is a lake. For the rest of the world this would be a large pond at best.
Any body of water here in the desert is a real anomaly and something to be truly appreciated. I'm surprised that this isn't called something like Silverbell Oasis considering it's location!
If you look up in the right hand corner you'll see that the sky looks different than the rest. I'm thinking this is because I was standing in shade when I took this and the majority of the sky was hidden behind all the leaves? It was 9AM and the sun was blazing bright, hence the reason for the shade.
If you look down in the right hand corner you'll see a lone fishing bobber. I thought about cloning it out but left it just to see if anyone noticed!

Yet another bellflower image, where I intentionally shot through some of these flowers such that the Helios can create a beautiful painterly bokeh :) I hope you like it!

Le Doux, a tributary of the Rhone on the right bank, has its source in the commune of Saint-Bonnet le Froid to 1200 meters before flowing into the Rhone to Tournon-sur-Rhone.
I like to walk along this river. Every time I ride it, the colors are different, the nature evolves and I listen with amazement the birds that live happy!
In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.
