The left is much cheaper, but I like the one on the right better, so it's what I used.

“When I see this photograph, I find myself feeling intruiged, wanting to say that I like this kind of art, remembering when I took, having the reaction that I relate to it, wanting to ask who made this.”

“When I explore this photograph, I think its message for me is you aren't alone in your feelings, it makes me think about everyone who does feel alone, or my response to it is realize that you aren't alone and I think this is probably because people are stuck in a bubble.”

“If I were to title this photo, I would call it I'm insane.”

“If this photo were to be able to teach me a lesson, it would be never give up to feel good about yourself.”

“If I could give this photo as a gift to someone, I would give it to my mom, because she needs to know she's not alone.”

"Nobody knows their true selves until they know themselves."

In these photos, you can see the two things that were done differently than the original specs: 1) The weights were shown hanging straight down; knowing that most museums don't like holes in their floors, they added some pulleys so the weights go no lower than the floor. 2) Turning all those gears requires a lot of effort, so the geared handle was added to make it humanly possible to do it. The caretakers posit that Babbage himself probably would have added this himself if he had actually built the machine.

Not a good picture, but I'm amused that Faraday looks way taller than Natsuki thanks to being on an obitsu and wearing those platform shoes! XD

Please Note: This is a redesigned booklet. It was redesigned by an Australian called Xerocorp. It therefore has "British-isms", spelling differences from how the CIA would spell some words. The original (with 'American-isms') can be found here: geocities.com/eco-action/crapaganda/xcia.htm

Here is the online text that comes with the redesigned booklet:

The original document on which this one is based was a sabotage manual produced by the United States Central Intelligence Agency for distribution in Nicaragua in the 1980’s. It was hoped that if enough disenfranchised individuals undertook activities that subverted economic stability, the Leftist government would be more easily overthrown. The manual described itself as “a practical guide to... paralyzing the military-industrial complex... without having to use special tools and with minimal risk for the combatant.”

It continues, “Some might think that today’s armed struggle requires military supplies and economic resources only available to states or terorist bands... There is an essential economic infrastructure that any government needs to function, which can easily be disabled or even paralyzed without the use of armaments or costly and advanced equipment, with the small investment of resources and time.

The folowing pages present a series of useful sabotage techniques, the majority of which can be done with simple household tools such as scissors, empty botles, screwdrivers, matches, etc. These measures are extremely safe and without risk for those who use them, as they do not require equipment, skill or specialized activities that can draw attention to the doer.

One combatant can perform many of them, without having to turn to collaborators or having to make a detailed plan beforehand. These are acts that can be done practically in an improvised way every time an occasion presnts itself. Our sacred cause needs to have more men and women join

Raccoon in top photo is from the east coast of North America while the raccoon in the bottom photo is from the west coast. There definitely seems to be regional differences in appearance to me. Looking at raccoons from Stanley Park (difference of about 40 miles from my place), they look pretty much the same as mine. And all my raccoons look very similar. Wthout any identifying scars, bad eyes or other features, I can't tell who's who.

Raccoons on the east coast look quite different to me & I think anyone looking at these two photos would agree. I can't say if the look of the top raccoon is typical. It's of a raccoon mother who visited Gale's (yeimaya) place & her photo too, of course.

What I've seen that looks different are (I'll use my raccoon to point out differences since she's typical & I don't know if Gale's is).

West coast compared to east coast:

- ears are further apart on top of the head

-ears are less furry

- face looks broader

- less of a ruff around the side of the face

- a bit darker vertical facial streak extending to meet the nose in a solid band (can be seen better in my Water Baby photo) www.flickr.com/photos/judesjewels/7632644222/

I find it hard to quantify what's different exactly but it's like facial recognition - alter a familiar face in some small ways & suddenly, it looks like a different person. It's what I've found when I look at raccoon photos of others here on Flickr. Either they look 'familiar' or they don't. Where raccoons that live in the middle of the continent fit in, I couldn't say.

Has anyone else noticed that raccoons look a little different depending on where they're found? I'd love to know, please!

Quite a difference 24 hours without rain can do.

Part 3 of the 4-part "Seasonal Differences" view of this particular spot. This one was taken in late afternoon on Earth Day, 22 April 2009, after a great deal of rain from the previous few days. Back around the corner to the left in this image is the little lake where I got my first pictures of the white egret.

Although Jimi & I had our artistic differences, I'm forever grateful to him for asking me to join him in the 1970s Portland punk community. During this period, we opened for (or shared cards with) The Wipers (Greg Sage), Black Flag, Henry Rollins, the Dead Kennedy's (Jello Biafra), Napalm Beach, The Rats (Fred Cole), The Malchicks (Billy Rancher), The Cleavers (Chris Warner) & others. When the Dill's came to Portland, they requested The Inputs open for them.

OK, so Lins, Lachlan, Nic and I were at Pub Trivia a week or so ago at the North Annandale.

Nic wins us a couple of mini boxes of smarties, one of which has a portrait of Lindsay on the back, a bit like those Missing Children ads you see on milk cartons in the States.

I said,"Lins, this looks like you".

He says, "No it doesn't".

I say, "It does, can you scan it and send it to me...?"

He says, "Mmmmm, Mmmaybe".

So he set a physical challenge, that if I could get his IM and send it to him as proof by 9am the dext day, he would scan this in.

Scarily easy to get his IM, heh...
