I have uploaded this picture to talk about cultural differences.

After living in several countries during the last six years one of the things that attracted my attention was that despite the globalization and the high exposure we have to different cultures we still keep our food traditions. These traditions differentiate us from each other and serve to define how we behave.

I took this photograph in Rome to try and represent the way of eating we have in the Mediterranean countries. They always use fresh food and will cook even if it takes hours to prepare a dish. Set the table, do not forget the cloth and eat religiously.

Looking at this image, Australia is not a country that would immediately spring to mind.

I took this picture for my friend who was studying food policy at UCL. She was writing her own blog about food and I thought she might like it.

I tried to focus on the food but still wanted to be able to recognise the people walking on the background as I was attempting to talk about customs. At that moment I was having lunch with one of my best friends from Italy who took me to Campo di Fiori which is a well known place in Rome. We were, obviously, eating pasta made of flour and accompanied by homemade tomato sauce.

In my opinion Amy Toensing's photo of Doug and Harry becomes very interesting after having heard to the story. It creates a perfect picture of an ordinary reality not that common for everybody.

I do not feel very attracted by the image because that topic it is not one that would retain my attention but I can understand what she is telling.

I think the editor does not like Amy's photo because it is not exactly capturing the whole scene he wanted to represent. It might not have a meaning as deep as it has for her as he/she did not live the story first hand or he/she might just dislike the composition.

it's amazing what lightroom can do to a white balance correction.

A switchboard is usually a low-voltage (240–690V) three-phase board comprising manually functioned molded-case circuit breakers. Switchgear usually denotes to three-phase mid-voltage electrical gear, fusible disconnects, circuit breakers, etc. in a listing all on a mutual bus. A panelboard is normally a low-voltage single-phase supply panel with one and two-pole circuit breakers. There’s some verge amongst switchboards & panel boards.

Last year for spring break, I traveled to England...alone...without parents, with a school group. It was really great. No parents, no sibilings, now thats the life...for a week.

So this year, I'm going to the Outer Banks. (the same house they went to last year, without me, Caitlin, and Chelsea.) But this years spring break, is with parents and sibilings.

I'm excited, don't get me wrong. But tomorrow, I'm leaving at 6 am (to miss the traffic. BS! We're still going to hit traffic.) And on the way down, we're stopping off at Williamsburg. I've been there before, and I was bored out of my mind. It will be a "good learning experience." Too bad I learned all this stuff in 4th grade.

Well, have a nice break!

This is the place where river Garone enters Lac Leman. All the cley and the particles that the river carries form a unique color pattern in the water....

Photographed from the slope of the mountain with 390mm zoom. The difference in the time of the day when the image was taken relative to the previous photo I guess contributed to the difference in the water color....

This is the last of my mountain hike and Swizerland photos.

As part of my GCSE Art & Design qualification, I created this piece as my final artwork under the title 'Similarities and Differences'. It shows a Macaque monkey drawn in abstract colours and exposing internal parts of its body to reveal a human foetus inside the animal's uterus. My intended message behind the piece was to illustrate a visual metaphor for evolution; although humans and some species of monkeys share over 90% of the same DNA, they are still very different creatures.

The differences between one another are a beautiful things, pity sometimes it's being used as a reason to hate each other.

We've come this far to see the two worlds dancing with one another, due to the spirit of pluralism, where we can accept one without inciting hates or negative sentiments.

And I hope this will continue and present in the future as well.

[by Peggy Lefler]. 2nd edition, revised. Toronto, Underwhich Editions, 1984? perhaps as many as 75 copies(?).]

5-1/2 x 8, cream Domtar Krypton Parchment broadside printed black silkscreen.

3rd version, with lettering by jwcurry. intended for inclusion in HEADS & H&Z, edited by curry & Michael Dean, the paper stencil gave out far short of the requisite 2oo copies. the majority of the incomplete edition was given to the author for use as stationery, most of which was so used & distributed.

What a difference four weeks makes -- compare this with previous shot.

Finally took the time to figure out how to combine two images into one... I think I may be doing it wrong but either way it worked!
