Artist Statement:
I am interested in creating environments that foster conversations around uncomfortable topics. Subjects such as death, racism, abuse, and sexual violence are not deemed appropriate for polite conversation. However, these issues affect everyone. I research human psychology, social justice, and world religions to make these concepts palatable. An open platform to talk about painful circumstances and injustices is necessary to bring about social change. My ceramic sculpture installations present life-sized human, plant, and animal figures in subtle narratives. Using the non-threatening guise of familiar creatures makes these concepts approachable. I am actively transforming exhibition spaces to become catalysts for difficult conversations.
My functional series is an extension of these ideas into a more accessible format. Many people rarely, if ever, venture to their local art museums or galleries. They do however gather around the table to share meals with their communities. My Memento Mori wares have been welcomed in many artisan and craft centers where they are sold to locals and tourists alike. The imagery on these pieces provides a subtle reminder to users that life is short and worth enjoying.
The fruit itself is a large capsule 10–15 cm (3.9–5.9 in) in diameter, resembling a coconut endocarp in size and weighing up to 2 kg (4.4 lb). It has a hard, woody shell 8–12 mm (0.31–0.47 in) thick, which contains eight to 24 wedge-shaped seeds 4–5 cm (1.6–2.0 in) long (the "Brazil nuts") packed like the segments of an orange.

"Viburnum is a genus of about 150-175 species of shrubs or (in a few species) small trees in the moschatel family, Adoxaceae. Its current classification is based on molecular phylogeny.[1] It was previously included in the family Caprifoliaceae.[2]
"They are native throughout the temperate Northern Hemisphere, with a few species extending into tropical montane regions in South America and southeast Asia. In Africa, the genus is confined to the Atlas Mountains.
"The generic name originated in Latin, where it referred to V. lantana.[3]
"The leaves are opposite, simple, and entire, toothed or lobed; cool temperate species are deciduous, while most of the warm temperate species are evergreen. Some species are densely hairy on the shoots and leaves, with star-shaped hairs.

Used 2800 Toho Japanese glass beads in colour 'transparent Rosaline rainbow.'

I changed the springs of my ”AB Rocket" to those about four times the size of the standard ones, from China, but still insufficient, and the roller axles are bending.

While the frame holds out it does make me want to stand up a little straighter after doing 50 sit downs. It really needs to be twice as stiff again.
If you have the appropriate work-out bench you can use body weight. The bench that I have only goes to 45 degrees, hurts my thighs, and I don't like exercising face down.

This one found in the flood gravel bed of the Kali Ghandaki near Kagbeni, in the deepest river gorge in the world. With the the Dhauligiri mountains on one side and the Nilgiri and Annapurna range on the other, the river drains the winter snows from Tibet and northern Nepal to India where it pours into the Ganges at Patna, before forming a huge delta between KolKata and Dhaka.
The river at this point was at an altitude of about 2,700 metres (8,900 ft). The peaks on either side are about 8000 metres (26,000 ft +) , making the gorge some 17,000 ft deep.
I was there in 1983-4 in winter where a rough path was re-established each year after the torrent dries up. Now there is a road cut all the way up to Jomoson, Kagbeni and Jharkot. Progress? Or destroying priceless wilderness land?
When the ammonite lived, this was the ocean floor, which is now at nearly 9,000 ft. Ammonites are a common find here.

Rossendale's Panopticon, 'Halo', is an 18m-diameter steel lattice structure supported on a tripod five metres above the ground. From its position on Top o' Slate, an old quarry and former landfill site situated in the hills above Haslingden in the Rossendale Valley, it is clearly visible for miles around.
'Halo' is lit at night using the latest LED technology and after dark glows a sky-blue colour, appearing to hover above the town. This dramatic gateway piece overlooks the A56, welcoming visitors to Pennine Lancashire.
'Halo' is the centrepiece of a wider scheme, led by the REMADE in Lancashire programme, Groundwork Pennine Lancashire and Rossendale Borough Council, which has reclaimed and returned to public use 33 hectares of land including Top o' Slate and the adjacent Duckworth Clough. New tree and shrub planting has taken place and picnic tables, seating and interpretation features have been introduced, together with improved footpaths.

She has inherited the family handed-down ancestral collection, including valuable ceramics, jade carved works of art, antiques, bronzes, and Chinese paintings moving from mainland China to Taiwan since Qing dynasty, from her father Chen Wancheng and has been trained to be a good professional collector and an excellent appraiser by family education since childhood for over 80 years.
