DEVOTION

Java, Indonesia, August 2013.

The long way up inside a temple. A journey towards oneself.

DEVOZIONE

Giava, Indonesia, agosto 2013.

La lunga via verso l'alto all'interno di un tempio. Un viaggio verso se stessi.

There are these pictures that are not what they seem to be at first sight.

But maybe they are. Who knows?

The passage of the Lady begins its procession through the narrow streets of Tarifa ...

While watching Birds feeding and collecting food for their young I never fail to be amazed to their dedication and devotion to their young, I think a few humans could learn something here! - Taken under license NIEA

Völlige Hingabe, immer und überall

Where do you go to my lovely, when you're alone in your room?

In the pilgrimage site of Banneux (Belgium)

Interior of a small rural chapel.

Here is an image without any snow or hint of winter for a change!

The weather here is very cold, not to say freezing like hell, but ok at the same time I know that -5°C with a strong cold wind is nothing compared to other places like Canada or Alaska or North Dakota...

So to cheer you up here is an image taken during a mildest period in end Summer when light was playing with clouds while illuminating the church below.

Light reflects from your shadow

It is more than I thought could exist

You move through the room

Like breathing was easy

If someone believed me

And everyday

I'm learning about you

The things that no one else sees

And the end comes too soon

Like dreaming of angels

The XX ~ Angels

Noisy Miners are a hugely successful bird, that managed to find a niche of survival in Suburbia & Rural areas alike, thanks to their ability to have a wide range of feed they can live off - marvelous, particularly considering they are in the larger family of Honey Eaters.

They live in large family groups, and their loud alarm-cries cannot be mistaken, nor ignored.

Often, it is these birds that chase away larger nest-robbers, ranging from Butcher Birds, Magpies, over to Tree Monitor Lizards and even the occasional Eagle.

I always listen out for their cries, as they also warn of snakes and foxes in the area! Clever critters! I do love watching their antics :D

A thing you never learned...

At the outdoors shrine I encountered on Easter Sunday.

Walking around a deserted Belfast on Easter Sunday I was surprised at one point, walking down a quiet side street, to hear voices singing hymns; I knew all the churches had been closed because of the virus. Venturing on I encountered a very touching scene: there was an shrine to the Virgin Mary outside a closed church, and a handful of people were praying and singing to mark this holy day, in an otherwise empty city.

I thought I'd never see Miss Lashe cry.

Infant Jesus of Prague.

It is in the most popular neighborhoods of the city that you can find the deepest, almost touching devotion. The one taken here is almost a procession. Everyone crowds to touch and ask for the blessing of the "Bambinello" (it could be translated as little Boy), to ask for the grace of a healing, perhaps that of having a child, a job. I find this Love, this longing, this devotion beautiful.
