Exeter Library has started a new Sunday Bounce and Rhyme session in addition to the weekly Tuesday 11am session. The new Sunday session is fortnightly at 2pm. The weather was warm so the session was held outside today. Theodore, Violet, Jack and the adults all enjoyed the new musical instruments!

February half term activity - the children made some lovely dragon masks and lanterns! Here is our display!

The 'Friends of Honiton Library' group have provided the funding to install a picture rail in the Reference Section at Honiton Library. We now have our first display of photographs by local photographer Rob Hawkins.
Exeter Library set up a stall at the Fresher's Fayre at Exeter College. It was great to have the oppportunity to meet and chat with so many students.

On August 4th 2014, the centenary of Britain's entry into the First World War, Tavistock Library commemorated the event by awarding prizes for its writing competition "The War to End All Wars". The photograph shows winner Olga McBride (second from right) and runner-up Roger Spettigue (third from right) after receiving their prized from judge Lynne Hatwell (second from left).
To celebrate the 90th birthday of David Attenborough on 8th May Exeter Library set up a display of his books and dvds.

The workshop was a free drop in session with Exeter phoenix. Children created their very own Jabberwocky monster shadow puppet and brought it to life on the shadow stage. The workshop was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classical Jabberwocky nonsense poem in Alice through the Looking Glass.
Over 50 football enthusiasts came to the Alan Ball evening, 3/4 of whom had never been to a library event before.
Code Club is aimed at children aged 6 - 9 years old. They learn how to code using the Raspberry Pi mini-computer and a programme called Scratch.

St Thomas School Fete fun.
We positioned ourselves under an old tree which sheltered us from the rain and the hot sun (yes there was both!) and hung postcards of book covers and the Summer Reading Challenge from the branches along with some bunting.
Joe Blackman and myself worked our socks off encouraging the customers over to the stall
I managed to do a presentation on stage for a very chuffed Book Tracker winner also advertising how brilliant our library service was, of course.
RADIO EXE mentioned the library several times throughout the day and our competition 'Spot the Spider' (a grid based game) went down a storm. About 130 odd people had a go (adults and kids)! The biggest pull was that it was FREE and you could win something. Oh and the sweets on the table helped too.
Anyway I believe over 350 people that day must have seen or heard something about the St Thomas Library, which we are happy with.

A beautiful cherry tree shades the decking built by Friends of Pinhoe Library for coffee mornings and outdoor events.
The Crediton Tesco Community Champion delivered a range of 4 healthy eating events at Crediton Library for Active Life Active Mind month.
