Charlotte received her Booktrack gold badge and certificate today for discussing 100 books with Exeter Library staff. The first book Charlotte discussed 3 years ago was a Ladybird early reader "The Sly Fox and the Red Hen". Her 100th book was the last in a series she has been enjoying "Last Term at Malory Towers" by Enid Blyton.
Children were very happy to listen to the Queen's knickers and design knicker bunting to decorate the library.
Year 9 students at Great Torrington School produced this fabulous mural for the teen section. The bricks are all batik and the students produced 'graffiti' words portraying what the library means to them. These include books, music, community, computers, fantasy, free, fun and relax!

The Met Office trailer parked outside Exeter Library for the Connected Exeter Digital Design Weekend. Exeter College, Exeter Phoenix, RAMM, FabLab Devon and the Met Office Trailer were the connected venues for the weekend.

Books with Buggies is an adult book group for parents and carers to come along with their children and discuss the book of the month. There are toys and books to entertain the babies and young children. It meets on the 1st Friday of the month. At the December book group the parents drew round their children’s hands which were then cut out to make the Christmas decoration.
The National Bookstart Week craft was owl headbands. The children enjoyed colouring them and decorating them with sequins.
The Quiet Area includes the Art, Language and Literature Adult Non-Fiction, Quick Reference, Magazines and Sunday Newspapers.
The Alan Ball tribute evening was held to coincide with the brilliant exhibition of the Westcountry Studies Library's Fisher Collection.
