I'm experimenting with film. This is the first b&w roll. I shot this with a Chinon CM-7 film camera, Ilford HP 5 Plus 400, and did some processing in Lightroom after developement.

This store is one of the few supercenter stores closed in the January 2016 Walmart store closing wave. There were 269 stores closed (154 in the U.S.). Of those closings only 12 were Supercenter stores. The closing wave included mostly smaller stores like Neighborhood market and Walmart Express.
This is an approximately 192,000 square foot Walmart store that opened on August 26, 2009. This is the Hartland, Michigan location I'll post the pictures of the closed Bedford, Ohio Supercenter as well within a couple weeks after finishing the Hartland pictures. These and many of my Bedford pictures are currently floating around elsewhere online.
I believe the big box retailers were overly ambitious when they built up at the intesection of U.S. 23 and Highland Road. Due to the recession, a lot of developement due to happen around this intesection never happened. Target doesn't seem to be doing that well either here. Meijer is the only store that looked like it was doing well in the area. Then again, the Meijer locations around here seem distributed weirdly. There are three Meijer stores on Highland Road within 20 miles of each other yet Fenton (a decent sized city to the north) does not have a Meijer. Both Walmart and Target have stores in Fenton though, so I wonder how many people come from Fenton to go to the Hartland Meijer. I also imagine the grocery section at this Walmart contributed to its closure. When I was at this store, I noticed a bunch of grocery items, on the shelves, that were months expired. I doubt Meijer lets that happen as much. Since Meijer is a Michigan based company, they probably have a more loyal following in the area to begin with.

China Developing
China's urban development is concomitant with its economic development and integration with the dynamics of globalization. The gaps are widening between cities and countryside to reach limits never crossed. The development of rural areas, where more than 600 million Chinese still live, is a gigantic task for the Communist Party. That's why the government is building territory development programs. And comfortable houses rather than wooden houses. Young people are convinced.
These laudable goals want to make the Chinese people a "rich people" and the country the world's largest economic power, while in the countryside the population is very poor. People still live there as in the Middle Ages. Xi Jinping, the Chinese PC President has imposed a new motto: the Chinese Dream as the American Dream. It is about working for the great renaissance of the Chinese nation

This special cemetery is in Stogi (gr. Huebuden) near Malbork medieaval teutonic castle in Poland. The largest and oldest (1768) olender mennonite cemetery in Poland. The tall stele are characteristic of the mennonite funerary monuments. The people were settlers of Dutch or German origin from The Netherlands and Friesland. They settled in the area beginning in 16th Century. They brought with them knowlege of agriculture, especially flood controll and were given freedom of religion and other privileges.
The neat row of nine stele were moved here to Stogi from Laskowice Wielkie i Male about 8 km away.

The calotype negative suffered through developement and came out much thinner than expected. It will not produce a much better print, I am afraid.

Haldane 3000HD (1988-94) Engine 1993cc S4 OHC Ford Pinto
Registration Number Q 25 TDS (Undefined age registration, issued from Glasgow)
HALDANE ALBUM
www.flickr.com/photos/organize
John Haldane launched Haldane Developements Ltd. in Glasgow in 1988 to produce automobiles and kits. In 1993 Brian Harrison and Alisdair Scott took over production until 1994. From 1994 Pilgrim cars took over production, retaining the Haldane name but moved the facilities from Glasgow to Henfield in West Sussex. Production finally ended in 2008 after around 136 vehicles had been produced.
The first model was the HD100 a model based on the Austin Healey 100, with a fibreglass body mounted on a chassis developed in house. The four cylinder engine came from the Vauxhall Chevette. From 1993 a revised chassis was released to accommodate Ford engines. Around 100 examples were built between 1988-1994.
In 1991 a second model, the HD3000 complemented the range, modeled on the Austin Healey 3000 it otherwise corresponded with the HD100 around 36 were built by 2008
This Austin Healey replica was built by Haldane before the Scottish company ceased trading. The rights are now with Pilgrim who are planning to return the car to production.
Styled on similar lines as the classic Austin Healey the car has a composite (GRP) monocoque bodyshell, powered by a modern engine with Ford Sierra suspension and a robust backbone chassis and Geoscan designed suspension. It will be supplied either as a kit priced between £13,900 to £16,900 dependant upon specification or factory built for £18,000 for one with used components to £ 27,000 for a top specification factory built car with new components.

-Mr. Tripps, you may now speak to the Grand Committee of Financing Crown's Developement.
-Thank you. Lady Archminister, Sir Minister, Mr. Secretary, I am here today to present to you my latest invennion, with hope of getting financial backup to develop the idea further. As some of you may already know, recently I've been working on an device that would, by causing a tirrilbe suffering, make interrogating Bandits, traitors, misfits and any other idividual that is constitutionally stated as Crown's Enemy significantly easier. Grand Committee, I present to you the Torture-inator! The idea is quite simple - the set of pulleys and levers make the force needed to... in example... stretch the prisoners arms in order to couse pain and get essential information waaay smaller. That small, so even someone of my age and physique could easily do it...
My sceond build for Nexus' 'Building Better Worlds' contest - stage II - build MOC that would explain the way of working of some machine.
The torture-inator really works: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JweX51InHGA

this is not a diptych or a triptych....it is a single shot, no post-processing other than the developement of the film, SOC, as they say in flickr land.......
but it is a confusing shot......
let me explain what you are looking at:
this subway car is a moving ad for goholland.com us.holland.com/meetings.php/
I am viewing this woman through an open door as she sits in the subway car..... the bicycle is painted on the bottom of the door beside her. The buildings behind her is a printed ad, and the windmill and tulips are printed on the outside of the subway car....
questions?
