A shot from the field across from my house in Temecula, California. I really loved the rock with the Anarchy painted on it. It really went well with the Thunderstorm clouds coming in.

It's been 12 months since I was in San Francisco, and a lot of progress has happened with the Salesforce Tower. It has topped out and most of the exterior cladding has been installed now. See the first comment below for the state of construction in August 2016.

Two years ago I took a similar selfie for a similar ODC challenge. It was my first real selfie, and I hid behind my camera for it. I decided to do a remake, and you can see I’ve become a little more confident and less “hidden.” Two weeks after that first selfie, my husband passed away after a long battle with cancer. So I have spent the last two years learning to live alone. It was very therapeutic to read my description for that picture. I have been focused on “getting through it” for the past two years, but it’s a reminder that I’m also on a journey to shape a new life for myself. I am presently having a new home for myself built in a “minimal maintenance” community in a developement, after living for 35 years in the country. It will be a big change, and I am looking forward to it. I am presently going through 35 years of accumulated stuff and deciding what to keep and what to let go of. And still trying to figure out who I am and what’s important as I go forward. Does anyone ever "get there"? Anyway, this is me.

China Developing
China's urban development is concomitant with its economic development and integration with the dynamics of globalization. The gaps are widening between cities and countryside to reach limits never crossed. The development of rural areas, where more than 600 million Chinese still live, is a gigantic task for the Communist Party. That's why the government is building territory development programs. And comfortable houses rather than wooden houses. Young people are convinced.
These laudable goals want to make the Chinese people a "rich people" and the country the world's largest economic power, while in the countryside the population is very poor. People still live there as in the Middle Ages. Xi Jinping, the Chinese PC President has imposed a new motto: the Chinese Dream as the American Dream. It is about working for the great renaissance of the Chinese nation
With more and more building developements and land reclaimed for small holdings, the birding opportunities in and around Kotu are ever shrinking but the bridge and creek still offer some good opportunities for photography
Battersea Power Station. Not much longer for this World as it is at present, soon to be redeveloped. Pink Floyd wont be flying any pigs over this again. The outer structure will remain pretty much the same, its just having the guts torn out of it and being turned into a housing project Hmmmm :-(

The Remax balloon here flown by Jeff G. seems to be 'dancing with the sun' on the way to South Sundance. The Pacific coastline shows the shimmering sun getting ready to settle down for the night.
Sundance is Del Mar balloon jargon for a certain landing area that we have been using for over 20 years. It is about the ONLY large, flat, wide open all-natural area left in our flight corridor. So not only is a a very good target when the winds are going that way, it also has a lot of aesthetic appeal because it is a natural, almost pristine mesa. Most areas we fly to are either farming type areas or places that are in some stage of developement.
The Sundance landing area got it's name from nearby Sundance street in PQ / Rancho Penasquitos community in the city of San Diego.
