Devastation on the French Riviera beach Following the Alex storm, the Var catchment has known an extreme flood event that has devastated several valleys. The high velocity flows have produced massive erosion that transported trees to the shoreline where they accumulated. On 3 and 4th of October, more than 200 m of the sea were covered with this massive wood stock. Many people came to see the accumulated wood pieces and look at the devastated beach.

I saw Orion Pax's version and was inspired to do my own. Sure it's not as big or green or purple, but I still think it's pretty good for a mini. It transforms although it requires some cheating.

Behold! My Constructicons/Devastator (Micro-Mood Scale)! Despite how fragile this guy is, he's somewhat poseable, as you can see.

As I entered this devastated hall, I was immediately struck by the dramatic power of the scene. My intention was to capture the very essence of desolation while preserving a certain beauty within the chaos. I chose to work with the faint natural light filtering in, creating these warm tones that contrast with the blackness of the debris. The perspective framing, guided by the rows of charred seats, draws the eye towards the back of the room, suggesting the immensity of the destruction.
I wanted every detail to tell a story - the twisted metal structures on the ceiling, the seats frozen in their final position, the walls bearing the scars of the disaster. This photograph isn't just a document of destruction; it's also a reflection on the fragility of our living and cultural spaces. By working with a long exposure and choosing this precise angle, I sought to create an almost surreal atmosphere, as if suspended in time, where beauty paradoxically emerges from chaos.

Or local wood is in the middle of a project to return it to a fully native, deciduous woodland, which in the long term, will be great but,it is looking devastated as they rip the heart out of it.
As a local source of inspiration, you can help but feel saddened,by its current state.

These caterpillars have a voracious appetite! After 2 years of great effort planting and irrigating, we finally started getting some good growth from the saplings we planted around our ranch. There used to be nothing but pinions and junipers and we wanted some deciduous trees too. Then, in only two days, these creatures began to devastate our new trees; stripping them of their leaves in hours! I killed them all!! Stay away from my trees!
By the way - those eyes are completely fake, only decoration (to scare some predator, I presume).

reworking a partly finished sketch posted in 2015 of a rock formation know as "the Remarkables" on Kangaroo Island. The island was devastated by bush fires in the summer of 2019/2020 wiping out much of the koala population.
Behold! My Constructicons/Devastator! Even though these figs are made up of few parts, this took me a month to design and build.

The Devil’s Demise - September 24, 2024
Satan is a fallen, embittered, and evil angel. He wreaks havoc on earth and leaves devastation in his wake. Every war, worry, and weary soul can be blamed on him. Hence, to imagine Satan bound, locked away from humanity—what an appealing thought! Has this incarceration occurred? Has Satan been removed from the earth and locked away? As far as I can tell, he is still “a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8 GNT). Satan’s incarceration is a yet-to-be event.
But he will be incarcerated. Revelation 20 declares with the reality of the devil’s upcoming demise. The millennium will be glorious because Satan will be bound Christ will be crowned, and we will reign with Jesus for a thousand years.

shortly after the invasion of Earth in 2356 SC-77 was tasked to build machines to counter the aliens war machines. the Devastator was the first Mechanized Battle Armor to be produced, it is more heavily armored, defensively as well as offensively, as a result it is slower and less versatile. however this is entirely made up with its massive firepower and high density armor which has kept it in one piece so far.
Mass: 125 ton
Height: 52 Feet
Speed: 30Mph
the main weapon is a short barrel 850mm artillery piece, which has been mounted directly into the torso to minimize the recoil from its massive firepower, which has been known to disable Alien walkers In a single shot
The left arm houses a custom built mark-3 Chain gun, the 50mm ammo is easily capable of penetrating the armor of alien machines and can sustain a fire rate of 6000 RPM
the right arm has a repurposed Naval gun, mounted with four 70mm barrels to increase the fire-rate, the cannons can fire many different ammo types but is generally loaded with HE rounds
there are a variety of smaller guns mounted to the torso, these are mainly used for groups of smaller targets
it is also equipped with dual missile launchers for a total complement of 44 seeker missiles and 6 heavy rockets which is the favorite means of destruction by most pilots
the dual heli-blade arms are used to move it over barriers it is incapable of climbing, they can lift the LDM to a height of 10 stories although, it has been known to be pushed higher
NOTES:
This is the Devastator's forth complete overhaul, I removed all the recognizable armor chunks, arms and weapons and dismantled everything else. then I rebuilt the legs using a design I had worked up awhile back, modified it to work with the old waist, then I rebuilt the torso using a new waist rotator to eliminate the previous' versions ability to rotate forward and back, then I attached the cannon I had designed to replace the shotgun.
the heli blades had to be attached to a swing arm to allow the cockpit to open
I designed a completely new gun for the right arm
finally I plated the legs and widened the feet
Whether one is a believer or not, the soft light and simple beauty of this space can hardly fail to lift the spirits and induce a mood of contemplation.
The original church was built in 1902 and became a cathedral in 1968. Then in the early hours of Christmas morning in 1974 it was razed to the ground by Cyclone Tracy. Nothing but the front wall and portico were left standing; while around it the City of Darwin lay in near total ruin.
The new Cathedral was consecrated in 1977 with the Archbishop of Canterbury in attendance. The design incorporated the surviving portico as a memorial of Tracy’s devastation and of Darwin’s resolve that forces of destruction were not going to have the last word.

After the devastation of our Hawaiian reefs in 2015, we have seen slow, halting recovery. The Antler Corals were some of the first.
Our faithful old greyhound Rex passed away last month. H and I were devastated and balled our eyes out. We poured through old photos, hung pictures, and recalled all the silly ways he made our house a home.
After a few weeks we realized that the house was just too quiet. H and I love greyhounds too much to not keep our home open to one. When we saw Octane, I new I had to meet him.
Octane is a giant! Tall (even by greyhound standards) and big. His personality is so sweet, that he truly embodies the term "gentle giant". After he spent a few nights in our home to ensure he wouldn't try to break down the door to the chinchilla's room, we new he was the dog to start to fill the emptiness in our home.
Plus, every night I get home from work I get to say "High" Octane!!
