In the Australian Blue Mountains, fires ravaged the forests near Bilpin. The only remaining kangaroos are immobile and static.
This was taken in 1984. Apologies for what appears to be a scene of devastation. I was having renovation work done at my first house.
Padova : Cattedrale e Battistero

Cathedral : Originally built on a Domus Ecclesiae ,rebuilt after the devastation of the Hungarians ( Early tenth century ) and again towards 1124 after terrible earthquake of 1117 .
The present Cathedral was begun in 1551 on a design by Michelangelo only partially followed by Andrea Da Valle and Agostino Righetti
It was consecration in 1754 .
It was damaged by bombing in the last two world wars
Batipstery : To the right of the Cathedral is the Baptistery . It was designed together with the Cathedral after the earthquake of 1117. Expanded in 1260 ,it was con sacred in 1281 by the Patriarch of Grado .
The building was originally Romanesque cubic coverage being akin to that of St.Fosca of Torcello .In the second half of 1300 it was transformed in the Mausoleum of the Da Carrara ,lords of Padua and Giusto de' Menabuoi frescoed the walls and made its masterpiece.
In 1378 ,the year of death of Fina Da Carrara ,the Baptistery was terminated .
In the pictorial cycle Giusto ,taking iconographic schemes and composition al Altarpiece ( 1367 ) ,now the National Gallery of London ,expresses the fullness of language and perspective research in an already Prerinascimental space using light and color without resorting to the line and contour drawing and the Venetian painting that differed from the Fiorentine ..For this it was considered one of the greatest painters of the Italian Trecento . The themes of the frescoes were : Genesis ,Episodes from the life of St.Jonn the Baptist ,Mary and Christ .Progenitor .The Apocalypse .
Together with theBasilica of St.Antony ,the Scrovegni chapel ,the Scuola del Carmine ,of St .George Oratory ,the Scuola del Santo is among the pictoral Jewels of Padua .

Storm Darwin hit Ireland on 12 Feb 2014 & left a trail of destruction in it's wake. With 100mph winds 215,000 homes were left without power many for days if not weeks. Personally we were without power for 24 hours & had no landline phone for over 3 weeks we were the lucky ones.
This is my local wood yesterday 8 months on from the storm. If you view on large screen you can just make out the yellow trail marker on the post this gives an indication of the size of the fallen trees. This path is still barely passable. I found Charcoal Burner fungi growing in this spot in previous years, sadly no fungi now as too much light is flooding in.
I thought I'd walk with Charlie in the forest east of us where they have been logging all summer.
I was hoping that winter would bring about more beauty.
Nah.
At the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, they have a trail called Devastation Trail from the eruption of by the 1959 eruption of Kīlauea Iki.
The trail is beautiful last time I visited.
However, this winter forest got a new name by me.
I'm calling it the Peterson Devastation Trail.
Charlie is in the shot for perspective.

I'm a pretty big fan of post apocalypse fiction. That said, I don't think Kamandi was Jack Kirby's best work. But maybe it's time to revisit it.

I saw Orion Pax's version and was inspired to do my own. Sure it's not as big or green or purple, but I still think it's pretty good for a mini. It transforms although it requires some cheating.

This project has been on my desk on and off for three years, now finally to be finished and combined in a frame that can be mounted to a wall.
The individual 6 Cons all transform from bot to alt mode.
The decepticon stickers and heads are the only unofficial
elements and some paint has been used
on all three shovels.
There is a red 2x3 light brick built into Devastators head,
so his eyes can actually light up.
Ever since i was a child and deffo since lime green came out i wanted to build this,
i just never thought how long this could actually take.
