I did this one in a flat tesselation manner, but musing with a draft of this piece, I found out it can be transformed in a 3-D knit-like pattern.
A design I recently did for my wife's birthday. It's a half-sleeve design representing the spiritual aspects of our family and relationship. The water & sky represent our daughter Tsomo whose full Tibetan name (Konchok Gelek Tsomo) means Princess of the Triple Gems's lake of virtue. The golden parasol represents the devotion to our root lama H.E. Garchen Rinpoche and comes from a story of one his past incarnations making an offering to the Buddha. The lotus & TAM syllable represents our daughter who likes to be called Lotus (cool like Lotus Carroll with all the necessary Buddhist connotations), but whose name is Choying Drolkar (The White Tara of the basis of all phenomena). The Tam Syllable is the seed syllable of Tara, a female tantric Buddhist deity representing feminine wisdom and compassion. The sun and the moon represent Kelly and I. The shooting star is something we saw together for the first time.

One of the most important parts of a tesselation process is to understand how do elements interlock and connect. In the EggTray if you look closer it's easy to distinguish every single element of the square - it's a square which resembles a heavily pixelated saddle. I believe it was Eric Demaine making 3D stars out of them. Then saddles were connected not by four as here but by three.
This is a Pomegranate at a fruit & produce stand in the Shuk. The Pomegranate is one of the 7 species of the Holy Land, mentioned in the Old Testament.
Some believe there are 613 succulent seeds inside... corresponding to the 613 commandments and good deeds of the Torah. So, who's counting?
