Christine Falls is probably the most photographed place inside Mount Rainier National Park due to the fact that it's gorgeous AND it's right off the side of the road which usually means a long queue and a rushed shot elbow to elbow with your new best friends. On this day, however, I had it all to myself as the snow plows had scooped out the parking lot and left a five foot berm of snow in front of the trailhead.
This is the 37 foot lower tier of the Christine Van Trump Falls, so named after a nine year old girl who attempted the ascent of the mountain with her dad in 1889. The young lady made it to 10,000 feet despite a crippling nervous disorder.
The wonderful arched bridge framing the scene for us is concrete and faced with rubble stonework. Built in 1927, it spans 56 feet of Van Trump creek and it has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1991 and for me it is the highlight of the drive through the park.
I've posted this video twice so if you've seen the lahar crash through here don't bother, but for the rest of you, hold on to your seat. :)
(deep breath) Howdy! Hope all are well, I am for the most part. I've been working a lot and when I'm not working I've been on the couch resting. Then the holidays, crummy weather and suddenly I don't have anything to share AND I'm way behind with all of you. gasp. :) anywho, I still don't have much that I'd call Flickrworthy but I wanted to say hi and I'm still alive and have been secretly peeking. I have a few hours before I get back to the grind this morning so I'm going to give catching up a go. I'm still not out of the woods with work, two more bank remodels to do on top of my regular work load which means long days, nights, weekends because the banks don't close for remodels and we have contractors who use us exclusively for their cabinets and we have to keep them happy at the same time. boo hoo, whatever. I'm going to try to catch up and stay caught up so when the day comes that my camera leaps joyfully back into my hands I'll be ready. :)

Sie War zusammen mit 101 013, 101 057 und 101 110 eine von 4 101er Werbeloks welche nach langer Zeit wieder eine Weiße war.
Auch wenn die Ausstellung vorbei ist, ist 101 003 weiterhin auf den Deutschen Gleisen unterwegs. Im August war 101 003 zur Blauen Stunde vor den NJ 470 nach Zürich gespannt und macht sich nun weiter auf den Weg Richtung Süden

For this exhibition, the 101 003 was pasted together with Märklin and since then it has been in Germany in front of Inter-, Eurocitys and Euronights as well as a model in 1:87. Via Cristoforo Colombo is the main thoroughfare in Riomaggiore, the southeasternmost village in the Cinque Terre National Park in the Liguria region of Italy. This pedestrian street connects the upper part of the village to the marina and is lined with buildings characteristic of Ligurian vernacular architecture, known as “case-torri” (tower houses). The narrow, tall facades of these buildings are painted in polychrome shades of terracotta, ochre, and yellow, and were historically designed to optimize the limited space between the mountain and the Mediterranean Sea. Via Cristoforo Colombo is the center of the town's social and commercial life, reflecting the dynamic between the preservation of local traditions and the strong presence of international tourism. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, Riomaggiore has transformed its economy, once based on terraced viticulture and fishing, into one of the most visited destinations on the Italian Riviera.

On Saturday late afternoon we went to see St Mary's Cathedral near Japantown in San Francisco. A service was in session, we were asked to wait until it finished. The church has beautiful stained glass windows. After the congregation left I took this photo in the center aisle facing back from a low point of view to catch the reflections on the floor.
I processed a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures.

Chapter II: The Mystery of the Incubators

Sam found himself alone in the laboratory, the dim lights flickering intermittently over the equipment. A bottle of beer was within his reach as he immersed himself in his thoughts. Recently, an unusual event had shaken his scientific world: the disappearance of a body from the incubators. This act not only defied the laws but also raised serious questions about the integrity of the timeline.
As the golden liquid flowed down his throat, Sam pondered the possible devastating consequences that this incident could unleash. What effect would it have on historical evolution? How would it alter temporal continuity? These questions haunted him, filling his mind with unease and concern.
An even more alarming idea seized his thoughts: Who could have orchestrated this act and for what purpose? Time travel technology was heavily regulated, its illegal use a serious offense. Only a few would have access to it, and none of them would have noble motives to carry out such an action.
As Sam delved into his reflections, a determination grew within him: he must uncover the truth behind this enigma. Not only for the sake of the scientific community and temporal stability but also for his insatiable thirst for knowledge. With determination in his gaze, he promised himself that he would not rest until he found answers and ensured that temporal integrity remained intact.
