London Design Festival opens 'What Nelson Sees' by Paul Cocksedge and Google Arts & Culture at Trafalgar Square, exploring London's past, present and future using AI filmmaking. The installation runs until 18 September 2025. When looking through the installation, audiences are transported to live views of the city from Nelson's perspective. The view then rewinds back through time to changing forms of transport from cars to horse-drawn carriages, from streetlights to gas lamps and shifting fashions. The view then fast forwards to a speculative future and explores how London's urban landscape might change to combat climate change, food security and overheating. The installation uses Google's AI filmmaking tool.
