The Frederique Constant manufacture measures 3200 square meters, divided over four floors, offering an attractive working environment in the sectors of movement component production, calibre assembly, watch assembly, and extensive quality control. Numerically-controlled machines of the latest generation are located in a large atelier in the basement, where all component manufacturing is concentrated. Calibre and watch assembly, as well as state-of-the-art quality control is primarily organized on the first floor of the new Frédérique Constant building. The building is also the brand’s international headquarters.
Built in 1913, this Classical Revival-style church was designed by Clarence H. Johnston, Sr. for the First Church of Christ, Scientist of Saint Paul. Following the departure of the Christian Scientist congregation, the building later became home to the River of Life Christian Church, which remains in the building today. The building features a cream brick exterior with several arches in a row interspersed with doric columns and pilasters on the Summit Avenue Facade, and french doors on the first floor, with the same arch pattern repeating on the rear of the building and on the Grotto Street facade, but with shallower recesses and pilasters instead of columns. The building features a flat roof with a decorative parapet around a central hipped roof over the main sanctuary space inside, and features bands of limestone trim, a cornice with dentils, and double-hung windows. The church is a contributing structure in the Historic Hill District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
