Oh, the DEPTH of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God

On Black, anyone?

A year ago I wandered down M-43 (Grand Ledge Hwy) a bit to take this photo. The visible house is on Mulliken Road, south of town; I was east of the village. The day's photography walk totaled about a mile, with me clicking away at most everything I passed.

That also explains the telephone pole, with hanging vines, that became the subject of my daily photo a year ago.

I can't resist that DOF play on words. It shows up every now and then in my photo collection.

Wolfgang heads down for a date with his babe.

Nice to see some colour on such a gray day!

Chilling on the porch watching the rain fall. What are you guys up to?

The other name I was going to use for this was Brontosaurus Bokeh

I even bring my 85 into the kids area at the doctors office and play around with their toys. I did get some strange looks from the nurses and other people in the waiting room but... they just don't get it.

Happy Bokeh Wednesday, not that I pay any attention to that sort of stuff.

Well my wife and I are at Cuyahoga National Park in Ohio and we have the E-Bikes for a trip down the park valley hopefully for some new material.... lol

But also we just want to enjoy our time together and the natural beauty here! A simple get away.

There's some beautiful waterfalls that we are hoping to find.

Anyway this is a older shot that I liked and decided to post. Hope you enjoy and as always thanks guys for visiting!!

Water color, temperature, and current can change drastically depending on depth. With the sun shining and water this clear, it's easy to see where the drop off occurs and how sudden it is.

To throw a snorkel mask, see and swim over the drop off is something else.....beautiful and somewhat terrifying to see the drop into a vast area of water below you.

Was attempting to capture the array of colours of the ferns, and their movement in the strong wind .... well, one out of two isn't bad!

I never get tired of the incomprehensible depth of space – and time – that we can see in a single glance, from the center of the galaxy to the oldest layers in the canyon's deeps.

I also despair just a little at the ever-encroaching light pollution, even in one of the darkest places on this continent.

There is really only one screw in focus in this picture. That is a result of a very shallow depth of field. A telephoto focal length of 250mm and a fairly wide aperture of 6.7 results in a very shallow depth of field. In fact, it is less than 1/100 of an inch.
