I’m currently chasing after my daily work, but, as the days get shorter, it’s getting harder to have enough light.
For this project, I also have to filter the people more strictly. Usually, I never approach people phoning/texting/eating or people who seem busy. I never approach people in a group even if some stranger photographers consider it can be something good. I don’t like sunglasses. And now, I try to avoid tall/small people in order to have the same ratio for the internal frame (on a tall person, the internal frame will look very small). I also avoid people who are carrying something, because they will not know where to put their stuff when carrying the picture.
So, today, I met Daphné. Daphné is student in the theatre conservatory. She is quite friendly, with a large smile. At the first glance, she did not want to be part of my project because she don’t find herself photogenic. But she let me explain and then she accepted.
I’m pretty satisfied by the result !
Thank you Daphné !

Sunday low traffic at Stillwater lift bridge over St Croix river. The bridge connects MN and WI states.
Our hibiscus is a pretty ugly plant all things considered. Scraggly you might say. But every day it seems to muster all its strength to pop one of these out. I am impressed.
I dug out my 105mm lens today. It does such a nice job on things close. But I had to re-learn lessons on depth of field, the more open the aperture, the shorter the depth of field. The less open the aperture, the longer the lens must be open which makes for a shaky photo. The balance must be right-on! This was taken at f/11, 1/125 sec, ISO 100. I think I got it!

Ronaldo, now 14 years old and with lots of challenges ahead of him.
Like the last couple I snagged this shot of the Golden Gate bridge in October. However, this is an 15" exposure that captures the movement of the airplanes across the sky. I apologize for the terrible watermark, I was experimenting with different ones and in retrospect, that was not one of the better ones.

Sunday was a driech day in Ottawa, as the city stumbled between seasons. Cold and wet. Could have been Scotland. Anyway, i was determined to capture something with my recently acquired 24mm Nikon 2.8 lens.
