This battered little sign, on the northbound side of Montrose just past Allen Parkway, is about the only way to know that you're at Buffalo Bayou. You can see the Memorial Heights development in the background.

The density of the trees, the different kinds of trees, textures of the barks, the vertical lines and the grey, brown and rust tones caught my eye here.

The Park at Memorial Heights, just south of the Archstone Memorial complex. This was built before Memorial Heights, and is high-end single-family houses. At some point, a traffic light will be installed here because of all the cars coming into and out from the two residential developments.
