I was updating this picture with a slightly better scan when I accidentally deleted it. Luckily I did a back-up about six months ago of the caption, comments and number of hits (2,795) -
October 26th, 1985
Heaton Lodge Junction, Mirfield
Intercity-liveried Class 47 47487 (SF) speeds up the Calder Valley main line with a London to Blackpool excursion (see comments below for further info on this working).
This was a real surprise - during 1985 this and 47406 were the only Intercity liveried 47s and so was quite a rare sight. The engine, however, did not survive much longer, withdrawal coming three years later. It was originally D1707. Ref 09-07

Note the smaller than standard numbers on 47487. It was a Stratford based loco around this time but was locally derided as it was one of the most unreliable 47s on their books and wasn't considered a suitable recipient for IC livery. Great to see a proper train where you actually have difficulty counting the coaches, unlike today where it seems people can only count up to four :+)

This is actually a North Walsham to Blackpool North NENTA illuminationsex, hence the Stratford 47. The stock looks like the fresh air set that used to work up from Norwich to London in the morning and back in the evening.

Entry to Orval Abbey by way of the Alms Courtyard, it was here that the monks distributed provisions to the poor. In this courtyard one can see the Saint Bernard Chapel (left) and entrance to the Guest House (right).

n July of 2002, the 1833 lighthouse in St.Andrews, was moved about 50 feet off its deteriorated foundation, for future restoration. Also known as Pendlebury Light, St. Andrews Light is the oldest lighthouse on New Brunswick’s mainland, and one of only nine remaining octagonal wooden lighthouses in the province.
The Pendlebury Lighthouse was restored by the St. Andrews Civic Trust, one the few lighthouses left in this area.

Concours Event - San Marino, CA June 1973. The slide had unfortunately begun to break down before I scanned it. Be careful with your slides! Keep them cool and dry and clean or they'll be junk in no time.
Back to the car: The 246 is one of the sweetest Ferrari's of all time. Very nice driver. Despite being 'only' a 2.4L V6 it gets down the road with impressive speed (it only weighs 2400 lbs) and its handling is superb.

The park section is managed by the City of Toronto and, includes a series of three ponds, a large meadow and a small forest. Initially, the area adjacent to the ponds was planted with species native to Ontario.
Once the wetlands became established, many species of birds have visited to forage or breed. Mammals, reptiles (including Blanding's turtle and snapping turtle), amphibians, and some fish have also found their way to the ponds. There are ducks, Canada Geese, toads, muskrats, sparrows, and others.
The Brick Works wetland is connected to a number of other nature reserve areas via forest trail, and is part of a larger effort to reestablish the Don Valley watershed.

The Thai know how to dress for the heat. This silk wrap skirt is heavy, but was quite comfortable for a 98° day.
I love finding a foreign Netflix show to binge. I was halfway through Delete while wearing this outfit. I enjoyed the concept but liked the twists and turns of the story even more! Check it out.

Here the ammunition needed for the Upper and Lower Batteries was stored in a protective network of underground tunnels.
This facility consisted of a central magazine for gunpowder storage, surrounded by a system for delivering cartridges and shells to the Upper Battery.

I just happened upon the idea for this photo. I was Snap-chatting with my son and put my iPhone down for a second and saw this on the screen. I then framed it and snapped the photo. The colors reflecting on the keyboards is what really caught my eye.

This shot was inspired by a photo I saw recently of a deleted scene from Star Wars Episode IV. Our heroes are walking through the Death Star and pass an Imperial Officer (2 Officers in the real version). They try to look nonchalant and hide their guns as they pass the officers.
