The full realization that Prawns aren't Shrimp

Definitely going to experimenting with this "Worm Hole" again...

I think you may know of my love of dragonflies. I have a lot of fun tracking and photographing them in summer, and I'm always a bit down when the cold of autumn chases them away until spring. Well, imagine my surprise when I found myself buzzed by a couple of these little red guys at Lake Marmo in the Morton Arboretum on November 12. They were still very active, flying and buzzing around as if it were still midsummer. I even saw a few grasshoppers that day.

Sadly, since that day, we've had a couple of hard freezes, so these insects are likely long gone now. I have to wait til spring to see them again, but at least I had this final day in November to enjoy one of summer's simple pleasures.

A VERY VERY SHY AND SMALL BIRD. REALLY HAD TO WORK HARD TO CATCH THIS ONE.

The Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher, Culicicapa Ceylonensis, is a small passerine bird. Formerly considered part of the Old World flycatcher assemblage and placed in the family Muscicapidae, it is now considered part of the Stenostiridae. These are flycatchers closely related to titmice and chickadees.

The Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher is an insectivore, which in its acrobatic, inquisitive hunt for prey reminds of its relatives in the Paridae.

he Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher is 13 cm long. It is a long-tailed flycatcher-like bird with an upright stance. The adult has a grey head and breast, green upperparts and bright yellow underparts.
