Legally blind without these. Used to have contacts but I kept losing the expensive toric lens doing things like jetskiing.

This is definitely most popular design among people whom i show my works. everyone wants granny's squares. Does anybody know, who has invented them?
Definitely not a camellia!
This rose definitely has the form of a rose. Here is a another photo on a different rose with the petals open and where you could confuse it with a camellia...
Nottingham's Cattle market is on every Saturday, loads of bargains to be found here!

A rather peculiar fellow, i think he's a knee grabber or knee hugger, most of them are pixies or elves i believe but he looks Irish to me :-) No idea why I was attracted to him lol
A really heavy iron recipe book stand

This is my first attempt at concert photography, and it was for the Oasis tribute band Definitely Mightbe at the Robin 2 in Bilston. Top band, who allowed me on stage access to capture these image. Go see!

Country Club Plaza. Arguably, the first shopping mall in the United States, and definitely the most beautiful.
The shopping mall that asks 2 questions: Why should a mall be a one-story box surrounded by an ocean of parking lots? Why shouldn't a chain store have an ornate Spanish belltower for its focal point? And answers both questions with a resounding "No reason at all!"
Yes, there is parking here, but it's discreetly hidden underground and behind tiled walls and lacy wrought-iron gates.
You will never have a better time shopping at a Restoration Hardware, or eating at a Cheesecake Factory. You'll feel like royalty. It's like watching a movie in an ornate, old-style movie palace as opposed to a soulless multiplex that makes you pump melted margarine on your popcorn yourself.
Obviously, the post World War II model of shopping mall design is of the use-up-and-throw-away variety. See www.deadmalls.com. This is the kind of mall that breeds loyalty. Who would want to shop at a newer mall when you could come here? It's a visual treat in a way that big boxes will never be.

Happy Sliders Sunday - celebrating halloweenie fun with a lot of toothy grins!
Definitely not too small. Capacity: 976 passengers and 200 cars. On our trip (forth as well as back) we were only about 100-120 passengers! (Don't know about cars, but 30 of us didn't bring any). Three levels of sun decks in the aft. I enjoyed those! Not much sun though...
I'm definitely getting the hang of this UV thing. I've been experimenting with self-portraits using mostly stock studio strobes and a Nikon 100mm Series E f/2.5 af f/8 with a Baader U filter on an IS Pro. This lightly-cropped image was taken at ISO250 from about 8 feet away. An adjoining image on my photostream shows the setup.
I took a number of selfies for test purposes and realised that they were starting to look halfway decent - so much so that it wasn't very obvious that they were ultraviolet, so I used a dandelion as a 'hello world' signature that this actually is UV.
This image was processed from raw using Rawdrop, lightly sharpened and contrast-tweaked, then the R and B channels were added together to produce this B&W image. The original has the usual purple colour cast; there is no useful colour information in it. Even at ISO250 the highlights on my temple are slightly blown; I didn't notice that until I was processing the image. I haven't figured out where the noise on the background is really coming from - I would have expected the sensor noise to be minimal at ISO250. i guess I'll have to experiment some more.
All things considered, I'm pleased with the way this 100mm f/2.5 Series E lens is working. I tried a 35mm Series E with the same lighting rig, just moving the camera closer, and the results were nothing like as good as this.

A VERY VERY SHY AND SMALL BIRD. REALLY HAD TO WORK HARD TO CATCH THIS ONE.
The Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher, Culicicapa Ceylonensis, is a small passerine bird. Formerly considered part of the Old World flycatcher assemblage and placed in the family Muscicapidae, it is now considered part of the Stenostiridae. These are flycatchers closely related to titmice and chickadees.
The Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher is an insectivore, which in its acrobatic, inquisitive hunt for prey reminds of its relatives in the Paridae.
he Grey-headed Canary-flycatcher is 13 cm long. It is a long-tailed flycatcher-like bird with an upright stance. The adult has a grey head and breast, green upperparts and bright yellow underparts.
