I am temporarily giving away a free studioshoot at the start of every month. The first winner was Yvon, and although she was a bit nervous at first and did not have any experience in posing, we worked towards a great series of portraits in beautiful light conditions. This picture is my favorite shot of her.
One strobe through a strip box at camera right was the main light, while a second strobe with a Deep Octa softbox lit her hair from camera left, and a third strobe with a reflector and grid created the illumination of the black seamless paper background.

Only two weeks after I upgraded my home studio with professional Elinchrom lights, the requests for shoots are starting to flow in. Joan also mailed me for a portrait session, and this picture is one of a great series we made. She had done multiple shoots before, which took out the stress and made deciding on poses and lights a bit easier.
I used classical beauty lighting on this image, with a Deep Octa softbox from above camera and a smaller Portalite softbox from beneath. A third softbox, a strip box, was lying on the floor behind her and the strobe in it lit the black background paper from the bottom up.

After making portraits of quite some female models, it was nice to welcome a male model in my studio for a change. His haircut, clothing and love for working out made me look for ways to capture his friendly personality combined with his growing power. I believe this pose says it all...
Sitting in front of a black paper background, the model was lit with a Style 300 RX through a Deep Octa softbox above camera and a Ranger Quadra AS through a smaller Portalite softbox on the floor in front of him. A third strobe with a reflector fitted was used to lit the background just as much as to make it not completely black.
