Shot in Pacific Rim National Park, on vancouver Island in British Columbia. I watched this guy fishing on a little rock island for about 20 minutes. He didn't seem too concerned about the incoming tide that surrounded the island and the wave action that grew with intensity.

September 3, 2024 - 'Mountain Top’ by Artist Noé Barnett dedicated by City and community leaders.
October 14, 2021 - Today, Mayor Tim Keller along with leaders from the City’s Department of Arts & Culture and Arts Board, dedicated the newest mural in the Public Art Program’s collection: Mountain Top by spray paint artist Noé Barnett. The mural, located at Tijeras Ave. and 1st St. NW in downtown Albuquerque, honors the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and features other “pillars” from the Civil Rights leader’s life.
“This mural is meaningful to us here in Albuquerque because it honors Dr. King for the things he accomplished in his too short of time on this earth, but also for the vision and challenge he put before us… to be better to each other. To be relentless in our pursuit of justice. When we see this mural, let us feel that call to action,” said Mayor Tim Keller.
The mural, commissioned by the Albuquerque Arts Board and Keep Albuquerque Beautiful, spans approximately a quarter block on various surfaces. The main wall features three dynamic images of Dr. King. Around the corner from the main wall is an image Dr. King in front of the Washington Monument where he delivered his famous speech “I Have a Dream” and an image from his speech “I’ve Been to the Mountain Top,” delivered in Memphis, Tenn. Both a transcription and audio of the latter speech can be accessed via a QR code.
Mountain Top also features other Black pillars from the Civil Rights leader’s life including Booker T. Washington, Dr. King’s wife, Coretta Scott King, and Frederick Douglass.
“So many thoughts and emotions coming from this project. But I think the most prominent feeling is that of humility,” explains Noé Barnett. “This was such a unique opportunity for me in a lot of ways and to be able to play a part in rejuvenating that space, work with some students and add to the conversation in ABQ has been a blessing. And I just hope that I did it justice and the community receives and appreciates it.”
Barnett worked with young apprentices from Working Classroom. Working Classroom is a local non-profit that cultivates the artistic, civic, and academic minds of youth through in-depth arts projects with contemporary artists to amplify historically ignored voices, resist systemic injustices, and imagine a more equitable society." (•) – The Lockheed Martin HC-130J Hercules The Combat King II is the U.S. Air Force's only dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery platform and is flown by the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and Air Combat Command (ACC). This C-130J variation specializes in tactical profiles and avoiding detection and recovery operations in austere environments. The HC-130J replaces HC-130P/Ns as the only dedicated fixed-wing Personnel Recovery platform in the Air Force inventory. It is an extended-range version of the C-130J Hercules transport. Its mission is to rapidly deploy to execute combatant commander directed recovery operations to austere airfields and denied territory for expeditionary, all weather personnel recovery operations to include airdrop, airland, helicopter air-to-air refueling, and forward area ground refueling missions. When tasked, the aircraft also conducts humanitarian assistance operations, disaster response, security cooperation/aviation advisory, emergency aeromedical evacuation, and noncombatant evacuation operations.
Features
Modifications to the HC-130J have improved navigation, threat detection and countermeasures systems. The aircraft fleet has a fully-integrated inertial navigation and global positioning systems, and night vision goggle, or NVG, compatible interior and exterior lighting. It also has forward-looking infrared, radar and missile warning receivers, chaff and flare dispensers, satellite and data-burst communications, and the ability to receive fuel inflight via a Universal Aerial Refueling Receptacle Slipway Installation (UARRSI).
The HC-130J can fly in the day; however, crews normally fly night at low to medium altitude levels in contested or sensitive environments, both over land or overwater. Crews use NVGs for tactical flight profiles to avoid detection to accomplish covert infiltration/exfiltration and transload operations. To enhance the probability of mission success and survivability near populated areas, crews employ tactics that include incorporating no external lighting or communications, and avoiding radar and weapons detection.
Drop zone objectives are done via personnel drops and equipment drops. Rescue bundles include illumination flares, marker smokes and rescue kits. Helicopter air-to-air refueling can be conducted at night, with blacked out communication with up to two simultaneous helicopters. Additionally, forward area refueling point operations can be executed to support a variety of joint and coalition partners.
Background
The HC-130J is a result of the HC/MC-130 recapitalization program and replaces Air Combat Command's aging HC-130P/N fleet as the dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery platform in the Air Force inventory. The 71st and 79th Rescue Squadrons in Air Combat Command, the 550th Special Operations Squadron in Air Education and Training Command, the 920th Rescue Group in Air Force Reserve Command and the 106th Rescue Wing, 129th RQW and 176th Wing in the Air National Guard will operate the aircraft.
First flight was 29 July 2010, and the aircraft will serve the many roles and missions of the HC-130P/Ns. It is a modified KC-130J aircraft designed to conduct personnel recovery missions, provide a command and control platform, in-flight-refuel helicopters and carry supplemental fuel for extending range or air refueling.
In April 2006, the personnel recovery mission was transferred back to Air Combat Command at Langley AFB, Va. From 2003 to 2006, the mission was under the Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Previously, HC-130s were assigned to ACC from 1992 to 2003. They were first assigned to the Air Rescue Service as part of Military Airlift Command.

An evening dedicated to the memory and the merit of the renowned poet Misak Medzarents took place on Friday, February 13, at 8:00 PM, at the K. and H. Armenian Hall of Levon Shant Cultural Center of Hamazkayin. The event was organized by the literary-cultural committee of the Central Committee of Hamazkayin. A large number of art lovers were present at the event.
At the beginning of the event, a film prepared by the committee was presented and in which intellectuals, school directors, teachers, students, and lovers of literature expressed their thoughts, opinions, and impressions of Medzarents and his work.
Following to the presentation of the film, Irma Dedeian delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the organizing committee. She mentioned that the goal of the event was to revive the spirit of Medzarents within the audience and which is enriched with balsams and has the lighted glance of an apricot.
Sarkis Giragossian was the keynote speaker of the event. He said that the immortals who are wearing the wreaths of the eternity do not need to have jubilee celebrations to become the matter of discussion and praise among the circle of literary critics and literature lovers.
Mr. Giragissoan said that in spite of his short creative life span over only four years, and after a century has passed on his death, we read the poems of the sensitive poet and will continue to read them in the manner we read the sky, the fire, the sun, the sea, the breeze, and the whispering of the blossom.
He mentioned that Misak Medzarents, who has goldened his poetry with the transparent and marvelous poetic legacy of Nerses Shnorhali. Krikor Naregatsi, Nahabed Kouchag, and the poetry of Agn, and who has sculptured his art under the influence of the mystic poets of Europe, and who had acquired a new poetic language with the determination to “Be myself as much as possible,” developed into a genuine naturalistic poet. Towards the end of his speech, Sarkis Giragossian affirmed that Misak Medzarents, due to his talent given by God, succeeded in becoming a philosopher of colors, aromas, lights and sounds not only for his own times, but for eternity.
Afterwards, Hera Ajemian performed a pice by Shopen on the piano and Irma Dedeian recited two poems by Medzarents, “Dour indzi Der” and “Antarts.”
Towards the end of the program, Manoug Minassian and Carmen Ajemian performed the duet “Yerazi orer” and Ms. Ajemian sang “Sirerk.” Seto Baghdasarian accompanied the singers of the keyboards.
At the end of the event, CDs featuring a collection of poems by Medzarents were given out to the audience. The poems are recited by Irma Dedeian, the accompanied music has been selected by Vahram Emmiyan, and the recordings have been carried out at Seto Baghdasarian Studio.
