The temple is dedicated to Luang Pho Chaem and Luang Pho Chuang, the monks who led the citizens fighting against the Chinese rebellion, and whose knowledge of herbal medicine helped the sick and injured.

The statues of the monks are in the temple’s main hall. Many Buddhist Thais go there to stick gold leaf to these images as a part of paying respect to the famed abbots.

Santa Sabina all'Aventino is a paleo-Christian church and minor basilica on the Aventine, dedicated to Saint Sabina, a legendary second-century martyr reportedly killed in Umbria in the year 114. She was reportedly denounced by one of her own slaves named Serapia, and her relics were eventually brought home to Rome and placed in the new basilica in the fifth century on the site of what was previously her house. The revised account in the Roman martyrology, however, states that the story is actually conflated with that of a completely different person and St. Sabina was simply the original founder of the church, as the original dedication was to SS Sabina and Serapia, which seems odd if the latter figure was the person who reportedly denounced her.

The church is attached to the General Curia of the Dominican order. It was constructed in the fifth century, possibly in 425 by an Illyrian priest named Peter on the original site of the Titulus Sabinae, one of the first parish (house-) churches of Rome, often originally previously the sites of private residences where Christian congregations met. Curiously, the original foundation epigraph in mosaic on the façade above the entrance door still survives. The Aventine was an affluent area home to numerous temples, including the Temple of Juno, and the homes of patrician families. It is said that Sabina was a wealthy Christian woman who owned a house in one of the more exclusive areas of the neighborhood, as the property was located on the crest of the hill, overlooking the river with magnificent views of the surrounding hills. The church was restored first in the eighth century, and again in 1216 when the church was given to Dominican friars by Pope Honorius III. St. Dominic even lived there in the adjacent friary shortly before his death in 1221; other famous residents included Thomas Aquinas, Pope St. Pius V and St. Hyacinth. In 1586 the interior of the church was remodeled extensively, when the schola cantorum, ambones and iconostasis were demolished, and the mosaic in the apse was apparently removed as well as it was in a very poor state of preservation. Some of this work was reversed in the 20th century in two phases, which occurred from 1914-1919 and from 1936-1938 with many of the post-medieval alterations and additions removed to restore it to its (possible) original state. Its large windows which were previously walled up have been restored, and now admit much more lighting, so its interior is somewhat different than many other early churches; in the medieval period many of the windows were reportedly filled in because of the belief that less light provided better conditions for prayer and meditation, but in reality it was probably due to concerns over the structural integrity of these ancient buildings.

Perhaps its most valuable feature is the entrance door, which dates to an incredible mid-fifth century. It is made of cypress wood and features 18 of the original 28 panels, which feature scenes from the lives of illustrious figures. Most significantly, the crucifixion scene in the top left-hand corner may be the earliest preserved representation of Christ crucified between two thieves in Western art, but interestingly, the cross of Christ is not readily visible. The panels are probably the work of two collaborating artists. The present arrangement is probably not the original one, but the result of a restoration dating to 1836.

It was begun in 237 BC by Ptolemy III Euergetes I and was finished in 57 BC.

This is not only the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt, but the second largest after Karnak. It was believed that the temple was built on the site of the great battle between Horus and Seth.

The oldest church in Bucharest, it is the only one of four churches that initially existed within Curtea Veche, the court of the Princes of Wallachia; many princes of the 16th through 18th centuries prayed there or were anointed to their office.

The date of construction is not entirely clear: the 1715 pisanie placed above the entrance door by Ștefan Cantacuzino, replacing one from the 16th century, mentions Mircea the Shepherd (buried there in 1559) as the builder, with his son Pătrașcu the Good responsible for ornamentation and painting.

he oldest document mentioning the building is from 1563.

The donor portrait depicts Mircea the Shepherd, his wife Doamna Chiajna, their son Mircea and Mircea the Elder, who founded a church there during his much earlier reign.

The church and court were burned a number of times by the Ottomans.

A bell tower was built in the 1670s under Grigore I Ghica and George Ducas; it burned following a lightning strike in 1691 and was rebuilt by Constantin Brâncoveanu, who added a clock.

This is a family dedicated channel to our beloved big lad Benji

We got Benji in 2007 when he was 4 years old as the owner was suffering from an illness and was no longer capable of looking after him

We got him on the 21st may 2007 so we used that date to celebrate his birthday

When Benji came to live with us he was a very independant lad and was always the boss especially over my two young sons and he stamped his authority quite quickly

He did test us at the beginning but soon knew that living here with us he was going to get nothing more than love and attention and he got that in abundance

He loved his home comforts as he would often take over the settee and would declare that space as his own

I myself have had health issues and Benji would always pop his head up to see if everything was alright with me and i would do the same with him everynight

We nearly lost Benji in 2013/2014 when we discovered a small lump on his groin and the vet at the time told us it was just a fatty lump and just ignore it

We knew something was not right and advised the vet that we wanted it removed and we would pay for the operation

We booked him in 2 weeks after that appointment and when we got him to the PDSA they told us that it was a good job that we ignored her colleagues advice and decided to go for the operation as it saved his life as this so called fatty lump was actually a growth that was cutting off his blood vessel, The operation was a success and it extended our time with Benji

There was times that we questioned some of the vets advice as for when we kept asking about all the lumps that was appearing on his body and again we were told that they were just fatty lumps

Over the past couple of years we were concerned of a few lumps under his chest and a few that would appear around his ribs etc and again we were told to ignore them as they were fatty lumps

Well those lumps turned out to be cancer and cost our baby boy his life as his liver had also became very enlarged and we had to make a decssion if we wanted to die in agony as we were informed or for the vet to give him that terrible injection

We took him home for a day so that he could say his goodbyes to my sons and we stayed awake with him all night

The following morning we gave him his favourite a tin of tuna and he had a good drink of water and at 10:15am on September 1st 2017 Benji was put to sleep

My wife held him in her arms as i cuddled his head and kept him from seeing the needles and he dropped into his deep sleep forever

The vet that dealt with Benji on his final moment was a wonderful and caring vet and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for all she done

We love you Benji and we will walk together again one day soon
