This picture is dedicated to the memory, of my husband's grandfather. He lost his battle this past weekend, after a devastating fight. This was honestly the hardest picture I have ever done, in my entire blogging career. I wanted it to be special to my husband, to remind him of his grandfather and his memory, so this was a delicate undertaking. I didnt know his grandfather all that well, but I do hope this picture in some small regard does bring comfort, and for those looking at it, I hope it warms your heart, to know that there are angels amoung us, you just have to open your eyes and look.

These children were on a field trip in a museum in Merida, I just asked them if some would like to pose for me and this is what I got..adorable!!
The monastery + church are dedicated to St. Catherine of Siena. Founded on September 10, 1579, it was severely damaged by earthquakes in 1582 and again several times in the 1960s.
Originally a boarding school for daughters of wealthy families of Spanish descent. As a large dowry, approximately 2,400 silver coins + numerous items listed on a list, such as a statue, a painting, a lamp + vestments.
Santa Catalina housed up to 150 nuns + 300 servants at times.

Ursprünglich eine Internatsschule für Töchter reicher spanischstämmiger Familien.Als große Mitgift etwa 2.400 Silbermünzen + zahlreiche auf einer Liste vermerkte Gegenstände wie eine Statue, ein Gemälde, eine Lampe + Gewänder.
Santa Catalina beherbergte zeitweise bis zu 150 Nonnen + 300 Bedienstete.

I just spoke to my longtime friends Ottavia and Joe, and I reminisced how she would have been the first to go outdoors for some winter photos. However her health has limited her movements and even her participation on Flickr. She won’t see this but I know that many of you remember her fondly.

Ophrys sphegodes (Orchidaceae) 067 20
Ophrys sphegodes, commonly known as the early spider-orchid, is a species of orchid native to Europe and the Middle East. It is a very varied species with many subspecies recognized.
Plant height varies with latitude. Flowers March-May (April–May in northern latitudes). Each shoot may carry between 2 and 18 flowers. The flowers have yellow-green sepals and a velvety red-brown labellum with a distinctive silvery-blue H marking so that the flowers much resemble an arthropod and especially a spider.

... are an integral part of the cultural calendar of the southern French town of Arles. The photo exhibitions have been held annually since 1970 during the summer weeks from July to August in the historic buildings of the city of Arles or in buildings in the immediate vicinity and show works by internationally renowned artists and creators of art.
The Communist mayor, in predominantly right-wing nationalist southern France had, against much opposition, pushed through a new museum by Gehry and wants the Bilbao effect for the charming town on the Rhone.
Opposite the museum is now a photography school, ultra-modern. Young people from all over the world visit the exhibitions there in the summer and the whole city seems to become one exhibition space. Even old churches, here with their side chapels, are integrated ... and since a young photographer must be ready at all times, he always has his camera with him.
The photo was a matter of luck, because the church hardly left free way for a photo because of so many people.
Older people are of course also there, because someone must have the money to buy the photos in the galleries ;-) ...

Die Kommunistische Bürgermeisterin, im überwiegend rechtsnationalen Südfrankreich hatte, gegen viele Widerstände ein neues Museum von Gehry durchgestezt und möchte den Bilbao-Effekt für die charmante Stadt an der Rhone.
Dem Museum gegenüber liegt jetzt eine Fotohochschule, hochmodern. Jugendliche aus aller Welt besuchen die Ausstellungen im Sommer dort und die ganze Stadt scheint ein einziger Ausstellungsraum zu werden. Selbst alte Kirchen, hier mit ihren Seitenkapellen, sind integriert ... und da ein junger Fotograf allzeit bereit sein muss, hat er stets seine Kamera dabei.
Das Foto war Glücksache, denn die Kirche lies vor lauter Menschen kaum freie Bahn für ein Foto.
Ältere Menschen sind natürlich auch dort, denn irgendwer muss das Geld haben die Fotos in den Galerien zu kaufen ;-) ...
