The working is the return Cathedrals Express, 1Z28 Shrewsbury to Paddington, 17.52 departure in extremely wet and inclement weather. The wind had got up by this time, as can be seen from the spare steam from the safety valves, my brolly turned inside out too! Saturday, 24.11.12.

While the doctors thought John would die the night before this poem was written, in his great fortitude, he pressed on until the end of May, defying all possible expectations, and inspired many in the intervening months. Such was John!
John Fawcett's funeral was a three-hour epic of music and celebration for a life richly lived and devoted to the worship and service of the God he loved. It was masterfully crafted and composed--in all its parts--around a dazzlingly rich array of musical sound and acclaimed Word of God--that took all present through a full gamut of emotions, from the grieving of our loss, to the joyful celebration of the resurrection, the latter aspect of which included all the many children dancing in the aisles--something I have never seen at a funeral. It was a fitting culmination to his long recent months (and years) of battle with cancer, and the tone of the service was triumphal, while not escapist, nor pretending that death is not anything but our last and worst enemy. I have never experienced anything like it, and I presume that John himself orchestrated the entire musical production, which included a piece composed and performed especially for the event, by his friend, professional pianist, Danial Paul Horn, also of Wheaton College.

A friendly museum dedicated to the personnel who served with the 96th Bomb Group during World War II.
Their aim is to tell the stories of all personnel who served with the 96th from the cooks to the pilots where it actually happened as the museum is based on the old base hospital site. We also have two stunning memorials to visit, one based at the entrance to Snetterton race circuit and one in St Andrew`s Church Quidenham.

RAF Snetterton Heath airfield was constructed by Taylor Woodrow Ltd, in 1942 at a cost of £950,000 to Class-A specifications. The main runway was 6,000 feet long with two secondaries of 4,200 feet each. Originally thirty-six hardstands of the ''frying pan'' type were constructed as when work started, the base was intended for RAF use. When rescheduled for the USAAF, the number was increased to fifty, all of them being on the south and eastern side of the airfield as a railway line and the A11 road restricted dispersed locations. Total area of concrete laid in its construction was 530,000 square yards with storage provided for 144,000 gallons of fuel.
The airfield was allocated for USAAF use in 1943, its designation was Station 138, Station-ID ''SN''. At one stage, it was planned to add an air depot, known as Eccles on the northern side of the airfield, access being across the A11. Four additional T-2 hangars were constructed on this site. Apparently a reduction in the number of heavy bombers being sent to the UK led to this depot becoming surplus to Eighth Air Force requirements and construction was stopped before all facilities were completed. From 13th September 1943 though 18th June 1945, RAF Snetterton Heath served as headquarters for the 45th Combat Bombardment Wing of the 3rd Bomb Division.
The 386th Bomb Group equipped with B-26's occupied this station for a week in early June 1943, and was replaced in mid-June by the 96th Bomb Group equipped with B-17's. After some 300 missions from RAF Snetterton Heath, the 96th Bomb Group left for the USA during November-December 1945. The station was then placed under Care and Maintenance by the RAF and kept in operational condition until closed in the late 1940's. The airfield was bought privately in 1952 for development as a motor cycle and motor car racing circuit, the first race meeting being held in 1953. The much modified and upgraded circuit has since become a thriving venue for local club, national and international racing, and also for development and testing of motor vehicles.

"The site on the National Mall opened in September 2004. Fifteen years in the making, it is the first national museum in the country dedicated exclusively to Native Americans. The five-story, 250,000-square-foot (23,000 m2), curvilinear building is clad in a golden-colored Kasota limestone designed to evoke natural rock formations shaped by wind and water over thousands of years.
The museum is set in a 4.25 acres (17,200 m2)-site and is surrounded by simulated wetlands. The museum’s east-facing entrance, its prism window and its 120-foot (37 m) high space for contemporary Native performances are direct results of extensive consultations with Native peoples. Similar to the Heye Center in Lower Manhattan, the museum offers a range of exhibitions, film and video screenings, school group programs, public programs and living culture presentations throughout the year.
The museum’s architect and project designer is the Canadian Douglas Cardinal (Blackfoot); its design architects are GBQC Architects of Philadelphia and architect Johnpaul Jones (Cherokee/Choctaw). Disagreements during construction led to Cardinal's being removed from the project, but the building retains his original design intent. His continued input enabled its completion.
The museum’s project architects are Jones & Jones Architects and Landscape Architects Ltd. of Seattle and SmithGroup of Washington, D.C., in association with Lou Weller (Caddo), the Native American Design Collaborative, and Polshek Partnership Architects of New York City; Ramona Sakiestewa (Hopi) and Donna House (Navajo/Oneida) also served as design consultants. The landscape architects are Jones & Jones Architects and Landscape Architects Ltd. of Seattle and EDAW, Inc., of Alexandria, Virginia.
In general, Native Americans have filled the leadership roles in the design and operation of the museum and have aimed at creating a different atmosphere and experience from museums of European and Euro-American culture. Donna E. House, the Navajo and Oneida botanist who supervised the landscaping, has said, "The landscape flows into the building, and the environment is who we are. We are the trees, we are the rocks, we are the water. And that had to be part of the museum."[6] This theme of organic flow is reflected by the interior of the museum, whose walls are mostly curving surfaces, with almost no sharp corners.
The Mitsitam Native Foods Cafe is divided into Native regional sections such as the Northern Woodlands, South America, the Northwest Coast, Meso-America, and the Great Plains; The museum has published a Mitisam Cafe Cookbook.[7] The only Native American groups not represented in the café are the south eastern tribes such as the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Cherokee and Seminole, many of which supported the United States throughout the tribes' histories."

Escreve-se "pôr-do-sol" e o plural é "pores-do-sol".
"Pôr" tem acento, para não se confundir com a preposição "por", mas os verbos por si formados (supor, compor, repor, etc.) não têm, pois não são susceptíveis de confusão. Perde o acento no plural. E escreve-se com hífenes, quando nos referimos ao momento do dia e não ao astro em determinada posição. "Sol" passa a "sol com minúscula, porque não se usam maiúsculas entre hífens.

America's official museum dedicated to World War I, as designated by the United States Congress, opened December 2006. The new subterranean facility greatly expands the previous facilities that are still housed on the main deck of the Liberty Memorial. The National World War I Museum tells the story of the war and related global events from their origins before 1914 through the 1918 Armistice and 1919 Paris Peace Conference. Visitors enter the facility across a glass bridge above a field of 9,000 poppies, each one representing 1,000 war combatant deaths. The museum holds two theaters, exhibitions with period artifacts (including a tank, uniforms, guns, maps, photographs of major forces) in state-of-the-art interactive displays, a 20,000 sq. ft. research center and library, multi-purpose conference room, and museum store. The last group of museum galleries focuses on the United States' military and civilian involvement in the war and President Woodrow Wilson's efforts for peace.[7][8]
The museum also hosts eminent guest lecturers, authors, and films related to the events of World War I.

A series of shots dedicated to the Dannee and Sam\Sanguine first so called “Night to Remember” something that Dannee indeed always to remember the first and only evening when that mysterious Sam challenged her into contest and his brew her so drunk that her memory of whole night was like erased… until recently when with some unexpected “help” she remembered everything…
Everything about their romantic rendezvous was perfect - the jokes, their travel to misty Grove, where Dannee in attempt to refresh jumped into waterfall and how Sam carried her back, gave her a new dress, then the dancing and the romantic atmosphere, when it was just two of them, two people enjoying themselves, free from responsibilities, doubts and fears at least for a while.
However those joking words of Sam about Dannee losing her dress to an uneven battle with the dirt, that kind compliment about her looking like a golden dragoness in her new scaled dress turned darker as his sympathy and tenderness vanished to savage desire, those moments he never spoke with her about of finally revealed… As his darker lustful side emerged with her immense fear what it might lead too… Dannee managed to soothe his fierce desire in other way then being defiled but for her it has been humiliation, then came the fear and almost despair when she realized she wasn't in Skyrim, but in Oblivion, at the mercy of the Daedric Prince, realizing that she truly didn't know who that mysterious Sam was and trusted him so easily but before she could further torment herself he found her.
He didn’t know what to say, she looked so lost and sad, such a contrast to him. It has been so long he felt himself so happy… she gave him such intense satisfaction he didn’t feel for years, like tidal wave, drowning out anything else in the world. It felt so raw and intimate and personal, even more intimate than if he had taken her. He should have been touching her too, take her to his home, to his bed, he thought guiltily, he should be offering her pleasure in return and giving her the comfort and touch she so desperately needs. But he was drunk and everything was happening all at once, the sensations so overwhelming and new that they destroyed any possibility of coherent thought at that time… But it wasn’t only physical satisfaction, she made him happy even by her company. He felt something coiled lazily deep inside him, something that’s just waiting to be given a chance, and here he is, giving it a chance. He’s letting someone in. But apparently Dannee had different opinion… He tried to comfort her until he realized it would no good, he still could make it up for her, make her smile again, make her really happy but first thing was to erase this whole evening from her mind, because it seems no matter what he will say will help her now, nothing but something like spell, that would not be strong enough to erase her entire memory of the night, but it would suffice in blurring it enough to make her second guess its truth, perhaps labeling it as just another unbidden fantasy without anything that may hurt her feelings…
One magic trick and Dannee found that she was at some new magical looking place with her friend, Sam who looked at her with something like affection, like he craves so much more than her touch and company, like he craves her more than anything else in the entire world…
“Why do you look at me like this, Sam?” The last thing she remembered how he brought her here to breathe a fresh air…
“It is just… you made me so happy, and you are so beautiful, dearie, body and soul.”
Ekambaranathar Temple (Tamil: ஏகாம்பரநாதர் கோயில்) or Ekambareswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, located in Kanchipuram in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is the largest temple in the town of Kanchipuram and is located in the northern part of the town. The temple gopuram (gateway tower) is 59m tall, which is one of the tallest gopurams in India.
It is one of the five major Shiva temples or Pancha Bootha Sthalams (each representing a natural element) representing the element - Earth. The other four temples in this category are Thiruvanaikaval Jambukeswara (water), Chidambaram Natarajar (Sky), Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswara (fire) and Kalahasti Nathar (wind). It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where all of the four most revered Nayanars (Saivite Saints) have sung the glories of this temple.
LEGEND
Legend has it that once Parvati, the consort of Shiva was doing penance under the temple's ancient Mango tree near Vegavathi river. In order to test her devotion Shiva sent fire on her. Goddess Parvati prayed to her brother, Vishnu, for help. In order to save her, he took the Moon from Shiva's head and showed the rays which then cooled down the tree as well as Parvati. Shiva again sent the river Ganga (Ganges) to disrupt Parvati's penance. Parvati prayed to Ganga and convinced her that both of them were sisters and so should not harm her. Subsequently, Ganga did not disturb her penance and Parvati made a Shiva Linga out of sand to get united with Shiva. The God here came to be known as Ekambareswarar or "Lord of Mango Tree".
According to another legend, it is believed that Parvati worshipped Shiva in the form of a Prithivi Lingam (or a Lingam improvised out of sand), under a mango tree. Legend has it that the neighboring Vegavati river overflowed and threatened to engulf the Shiva Lingam and that Parvati or Kamakshi embraced the Lingam. Shiva touched by the gesture materialized in person and married her. In this context he is referred to as Tazhuva kuzhainthaar ("He who melted in Her embrace") in Tamil.
Tiurkuripputhonda Nayanar, one of the 63 saivite saints, called nayanars was a washerman in near the temple and he washed the clothes of all the Saivities. He was divinely tricked by God Shiva appearing as an aged brahmin and asked him to wash before dawn. At the same time Shiva made a cloudly evening. On observing the approach of the evening, the washerman banged his head in a stone in disappointment. God appeared in his true form and graced his devotee.
HISTORY
This vast temple is one of the most ancient in India having been in existence since at least 600 AD. Second century AD Tamil poetry speaks of Kama kottam, and the Kumara kottam (currently the Kamakashi Amman temple and the Subramanya temple).Initially temple was built by Pallavas. The Vedantist Kachiyapper served as a priest at the temple. The existing structure then, was pulled down and rebuilt by the later Chola Kings. Adi Sankara, the 10th-century saint got Kanchipuram remodelled along with expansion of this temple along with Kamakshi Amman temple and Varadaraja Perumal Temple with the help of local rulers.
The Vijayanagar kings, during the 15th century, also made lot of contributions to the temple and later developed by Vallal Pachiyappa Mudaliar used to go regularly from Chennai to Kanchipuram to worship in this temple, he spent significant money he amazed during British rule on the temple renovation, Pachiyappa Mudaliar seated at horse back can be seen in the temple pillar. At the later stage a similar temple with same name Ekambareswarar was constructed in Chennai by Pachiappa Mudaliar in order to avoid travelling time to Kanchipuram. The Archaeological Survey of India report of 1905–06 indicates widespread renovation activities carried out in the temple by Nattukottai Chettiar.
TEMPLE
The temple covers an area of over 23 acres (93,000 m2). Reaching a height of 59 meters, the temple's Raja gopuram (the entrance tower to the temple) is one of the tallest in South India. One notable feature of the temple is the Aayiram Kaal Mandapam, or the "hallway with a thousand pillars", which was built by the Vijayanagar Kings. The temple's inner walls are decorated with an array of 1,008 Siva lingams. The campus is 25 acres with 5 prakarams (or courtyards) and has a thousand-pillared hall. Kampai Tirtha, the temple tank is believed to have an underground holy river. The fourth courtyard contains a small Ganesha temple and a pond. The third courtyard contains lot of smaller shrines. The sanctum sanctorum contains the lingam along with the image of Shiva.
There is no separate shrine for Parvati within the complex as with other Shiva temples in Kanchipuram. A local belief is that Kamakshi Amman Temple is the consort for Ekambaranathar. There is a small shrine for Vishnu named Thiru Nilaaththingal Thundathan inside the temple complex. Vishnu is prayed as Vamana Murthy and the shrine is hailed by the Alvar saints as one of the 108 Divya Desams. The sthala-virutcham or temple tree is a 3,500 year old mango tree whose branches are said to yield four different types of mangoes from its four branches.
Panguni Uthiram festival celebrated during the month of March–April is the most popular of all the temple festivals in Kanchipuram.
RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TEMPLE
Pancha Bhoota Stalam (Sanskrit: पन्च भूत स्थल) refers to the five Shiva temples, each representing the manifestation of the five prime elements of nature - land, water, air, sky, fire. Pancha indicates five, Bhoota means elements and Stala means place. All these temples are located in South India with four of these temples at Tamil Nadu and one at Andra Pradesh. The five elements are believed to be enshrined in the five lingams and each of the lingams representing Shiva in the temple have five different names based on the elements they represent. In the temple, Shiva is said to have manifested himself in the form of Prithvi Lingam. The other four manifestations are Appu Lingam (representing water) at Jambukeswarar Temple, Thiruvanaikaval, Akaya Lingam (representing sky) at Thillai Nataraja Temple, Chidambaram, Agni Lingam (representing fire) at Annamalaiyar Temple and Vayu Lingam (representing air) at Srikalahasti Temple.
INSCIPTIONS
There are inscriptions dated 1532 CE (record 544 of 1919) indicating the gift of number of villages made by Achutaraya. Vira Narasingaraya Saluva Nayaka who was directed by Achutaraya broke the royal order by giving more lands to Ekambaranathar temple than the Varadaraja Swamy temple against the instruction of an equal gift to either of the temples. Achutaraya on hearing this equally distributed the lands to both the temples.

Satawari is a woody climber growing to 1-2 m in height, with leaves like pine needles, small and uniform and the flowers white, in small spikes. It contains adventitious root system with tuberous roots. Stems are climbing, branched, up to 2 m; branches usually distinctly striate-ridged. Leaves are just modified stems, called cladodes. Branches contain spines on them. Inflorescences develope after cladodes, axillary, each a many-flowered raceme or panicle 1-4 cm. Pedicel 1.5-3 mm, slender, articulate at middle. Flowers are white with a pink tinge, 2-3 mm, bell-shaped with 6 petals. Stamens equal, ca. 0.7 mm; anthers yellow, minute. Within India, it is found growing wild in tropical and sub-tropical parts of India including the Andamans; and ascending in the Himalayas up to an altitude of 1500 m. Flowering: October-November.
Medicinal uses: In Ayurvedic medicine, the root of Satavari is used in the form of juice, paste, decoction and powder to treat intrinsic haemorrhage, diarrhoea, piles, hoarseness of voice, cough, arthritis, poisoning, diseases of female genital tract, erysipelas, fever, as aphrodisiac and as rejuvinative.

Shrine dedicated to Filipina revolutionary Melchora Aquino de Ramos. "Tandang Sora" means "Elder Sora," a title given to her in respect to her age at the time she started assisting the independence movement (she was already 84 - the Revolution broke out 1896). Her home and a store she operated became a refuge for sick & wounded revolutionaries and secret meetings of the Katipuneros (revolutionaries). "Grand Woman of the revolution," "Mother of Balintawak," "Mother of the Katipunan," "Mother of the Philippine Revolution" are also affectionate titles referring to her.
