i just moved a giant table out of my sewing area and now i'm trying to declutter and organize stuff so i can change the room around. it' hard because i have no where to put stuff except piled on top of other piles.

It's the last day of my 30 Day challenge, and today, I decided to finish Dealing with the Dressers. At various points in the last 30 days I've cleaned out a Drawer here and there, and cut down on the amount of stuff in the three (yes, 3!) Dressers in my bedroom. Today I decided it was time for the final push to be able to replace the 2 large dressers with 2 small dressers (1 current, 1 new.) So I Dug through the last few Drawers that I hadn't sorted yet, and ended up with another pile of Donations. Then I removed 1 big Dresser, and put the small dresser in its place. It immediately made the room feel more open (not to mention I can reach the light switch now) and I can't wait to get the other big Dresser out and the 2nd small Dresser in its place (after yet another trip to Ikea, that is.)
I am a life-long pack rat, I seldom let anything go, some are special gifts from friends, some are just things I found but no matter they all seemed important to me.
However, last April when I was struck by a car even I was lucky not suffer any major injury. I started to think about all the stuff I collected could be a big burden to my families and friends if I gone.
As the year of 2010 was reaching the last days I finally had an idea: to declutter my life! My New Year resolution is to give away at least one item I own each day. I will post the photos of each item and how I came to them and what I plan to do with it.
My first item to give away is this miss piggy tea pot. I brought this many years ago at St Lawrence Sunday market, I can’t remember why I brought it and I never even use it once. Now it is going to a lady she collects tea pot. So it is going to a good home.

My February Lady Sweater is coming along nicely; I hope to be done within the next few days. The biggest challenge has been deciding on length - first of the body and then of the sleeves. I knit a few more repeats after this picture and then proceeded to the garter cuff. I'm really excited about this knit!!! Those are all empty hangers. I cleaned out my closet and dresser today. Pretty certain I got rid of half of my clothes. It feels good to declutter. :)
So after hanging the Christmas lights for the 20 years we've had them - they are now offically trash. We did declutter the garage of stacks n stacks of lights. I know it's not much but the last couple of months have been spent - going to Dr. appt. for my dad and spending lots of time with him and my mom - Cancer really sucks but it's brought us much closer and we appriciate each moment we get!!!
I've always been untidy. I leave a trail of debris wherever I go. This is my bedroom floor. Taking this image really made me face the clutter and mess I put up with. Whenever I tidy and organise my bedroom I sleep better, leap out of bed. When it's a mess I have to drag myself out of bed. The state of my room affects and reflects the state of my mind. So, this photo is a wake up call - time to declutter and give everything a place and a home in my room! Oh and I always wear odd socks - life is too short to be sorting your socks into pairs! hahaha. My craft room had become cluttered and in need of organization. Netflix has been showing Marie Kondo's decluttering show. I watched it and started to declutter and organize my room. I think there must have been subliminal hints or she hypnotized me!
I found a sweater in a drawer and started to deconstruct it. Voila - curly strands of yarn. We moved to Raleigh, NC from Omaha, NE. No need for wool sweaters anymore. This is the second sweater I have taken down to the yarn.
