We’ve read our fair share of advice about how important it is to declutter your home and office. The more organized your space is, the more likely you are to feel clear-headed and optimistic about your life in general. What if the same were true for your emotional health, though? What...

Away with the Santas, stockings, trees and trimmings. The excess of Christmas has me craving a simple, clean look. January is the perfect time to take stock. To declutter. To empty rooms for a fresh perspective. To surround ourselves with only what we love. To remove things that just don’t work anymore. To rearrange furniture, art and […]

Gingy has been around this house too long. He's loud, unintelligible (something about a rotten gumdrop, I can't tell), and just plain oustayed his welcome. Buh bye.
My hoard of computer cables. I've not touched most of them for over 7 years. Take the Centronics parallel printer cable in the bottom right corner, for example. Printers started going USB about 9 years ago, and haven't looked back since.
All gone to be recycled as my local council waste disposal service at Grunty Fen see fit.

In a world that often feels cluttered and overwhelming, it's easy to lose sight of the beauty in simplicity. I remember one time when I was feeling particularly stressed and anxious, I decided to declutter my space and strip it down to the bare essentials. As I got rid of the excess and kept only what was necessary, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. That experience inspired me to create art that celebrates the power of minimalism and encourages others to find peace in simplicity.
🌚 Have you ever found beauty in simplicity? What inspires you to seek simplicity in your life?

(Concert critiques of two of Manfred's publicly played organ concerts; both appeared in official newspapers, both quite extensive and nice, one from Vienna in 2005 - can be viewed in the left upper corner of the picture -, the other one from Germany, late in that year...)

Good old Windows for Workgroups. I haven't used these since I upgraded to Windows 95 somewhen around 1996.
The tape box is even older, and contained my old ZX81 and Acorn Electron tapes.

This is the guest trundle bed that sits against the window. I hung the candle sconces a couple days ago - that's why the drill is still sitting out on the bed. I also need to find a better place to store extra pillows and blankets - I'm thinking a large basket placed on one of the bookcase shelves. I also want to buy candles in a different color, so they stand out a bit more on the wall.
i drastically pared down my collection of books prior to moving in with daniel last fall. i mean, ok. when i moved into my own house, i moved with my bedroom set, my computer, a set of steak'n'shake dishes, maybe two boxes of clothes, & approximately thirty boxes of books. by the time i moved to the compound, it was more like nine boxes of books. then i had to decide what of those nine boxes would actually go in the one bookcase (out of the three cases that i own) we'd set aside for books. oh, & did i mention that daniel had to have some of his books on the shelves, too? dang.
six months-ish later & i'm rapidly outgrowing the shelves. on the one hand, i'm a collector & i like to have my stuff around me ... on the other, will i read any of these books again? my sources say NO. i'm not much of a re-reader these days, not like i was as a kid. plus some of what i'm reading is admittedly pulpy & pointless & really not worth hanging onto anyway. so i guess what i'm saying is maybe i need to declutter the shelves again.
besides, having too much stuff is for squares.
‘This is a mess’ Boba said
‘I know’ I sighed ‘this has become the room that all of our junk has got dumped in. Once it had been cleared it will become my bedroom’
Boba then helped me make a start to the mass declutter. We made really good progress today. Hopefully it will continue.

As you can see, I am a fan of big books! Love those books with many characters spanned over lots of generations. Those with some history and a liberal dose of imagination! Love it. These are two I am reading at the moment! These days I borrow from the library....meaty books like these are expensive...and I really do not need more books/possessions at home! Trying to declutter...not bring more in!
Another painting that I hated. It's over-worked and way too busy. I need to declutter myself abit because this painting just tells it all.
