The empty fabric and craft boxes, after I cleaned out the study wardrobe and organised all my fabrics into big plastic boxes.
Limiting horizontal surface area does at least help limit area I can clutter up with crap. Our slabs, as we call them, are on casters so we can easily move them where ever. Everything on top of the slab is museum puttied in place, that's some handy stuff.

Those are all empty hangers. I cleaned out my closet and dresser today. Pretty certain I got rid of half of my clothes. It feels good to declutter. :)
So after hanging the Christmas lights for the 20 years we've had them - they are now offically trash. We did declutter the garage of stacks n stacks of lights. I know it's not much but the last couple of months have been spent - going to Dr. appt. for my dad and spending lots of time with him and my mom - Cancer really sucks but it's brought us much closer and we appriciate each moment we get!!!
I've always been untidy. I leave a trail of debris wherever I go. This is my bedroom floor. Taking this image really made me face the clutter and mess I put up with. Whenever I tidy and organise my bedroom I sleep better, leap out of bed. When it's a mess I have to drag myself out of bed. The state of my room affects and reflects the state of my mind. So, this photo is a wake up call - time to declutter and give everything a place and a home in my room! Oh and I always wear odd socks - life is too short to be sorting your socks into pairs! hahaha. That's me all over.
My time today was to be used to declutter, starting with boxes in the loft, I came across a box with my childhood books, Enid Blyton's Famous Five, Secret Seven, Heidi, etc and this my all time favourite Black Beauty, I didnt know I still had all these ..... needless to say I didnt get any further so decluttering will have to start another day.

My craft room had become cluttered and in need of organization. Netflix has been showing Marie Kondo's decluttering show. I watched it and started to declutter and organize my room. I think there must have been subliminal hints or she hypnotized me!
I found a sweater in a drawer and started to deconstruct it. Voila - curly strands of yarn. We moved to Raleigh, NC from Omaha, NE. No need for wool sweaters anymore. This is the second sweater I have taken down to the yarn.
I added a texture layer and a frame. I desaturated the color of the yarn. You can see the original image on my flickr page: www.flickr.com/photos/needlepointernc/?

It's the last day of my 30 Day challenge, and today, I decided to finish Dealing with the Dressers. At various points in the last 30 days I've cleaned out a Drawer here and there, and cut down on the amount of stuff in the three (yes, 3!) Dressers in my bedroom. Today I decided it was time for the final push to be able to replace the 2 large dressers with 2 small dressers (1 current, 1 new.) So I Dug through the last few Drawers that I hadn't sorted yet, and ended up with another pile of Donations. Then I removed 1 big Dresser, and put the small dresser in its place. It immediately made the room feel more open (not to mention I can reach the light switch now) and I can't wait to get the other big Dresser out and the 2nd small Dresser in its place (after yet another trip to Ikea, that is.)

Much scary stuff removed - many out-of-date medicines, sunscreens, etc. Old and replaced mascara and eye shadow, a stack of worn out kids' hairbands, 5 boxes of band-aids into one, partial bits of conditioner and shampoo into current bottles.
A standard pattern railway ticket office - almost complete. Once open work to declutter the exosting platform at Salford will commence.
The things on the top shelf were never used. I moved some things to the pantry and put some things in the charity box.
My sister collects glass flowers and gave me two ginormous ones that she didn't want anymore. I take this stuff to break, but I occasionally let the things sit around my house collecting dust before I smash it to smithereens.
I wish I could declutter my life. But I like things, especially colorful, beautiful things.

It sorta feels bittersweet taking these photos but at the same time, I feel it must be done. I plan to sell Soye, my first BJD.
I've had her stored in the attic for a month and I didn't miss her at all. I'm trying to declutter my house and she deserves a home where she'll be loved and played with.
David installed this for me for better ventilation. He modified an IKEA hood we got at sale and installed it on it's back leading out through the window. He added some type of foam so that the little heat I have in the studio wouldn't vanish straight through. And when I use it I just remove that part. He also added some lights in some pvc pipes. Now I just need some type of screen roof thing above to make sure everything gets sucked out.
As your personal organizer, I will help you make positive choices to alter your physical surroundings to be organized, uncluttered and accessible.
Zach took the last of his things that we had stored in the basement. Now I have to declutter and organize our things down there.
Second go at water drop photos. Added a slightly larger tray to declutter the background, otherwise most of the effort was spent trying to reduce the flash power and therefore duration. Still using the Neewar triggers which means everything is manual. They're obviously not fully Canon compatible as they don't trigger in Live View which makes focus a bit fiddly. This photo was taken with the Flash on 1/16 power. Full power duration is 1/700s, not sure how it reduces. Poor old Cobra flash doesn't seem to have any manual control so this shot had one flash high right behind droplets.

Quick project to build a second hanging bookshelf for my office, which will allow me to declutter considerably.
Time to start putting on the finish. In this case, my usual: a couple coats of Watco, followed by a coat of Butcher's wax.
