i drastically pared down my collection of books prior to moving in with daniel last fall. i mean, ok. when i moved into my own house, i moved with my bedroom set, my computer, a set of steak'n'shake dishes, maybe two boxes of clothes, & approximately thirty boxes of books. by the time i moved to the compound, it was more like nine boxes of books. then i had to decide what of those nine boxes would actually go in the one bookcase (out of the three cases that i own) we'd set aside for books. oh, & did i mention that daniel had to have some of his books on the shelves, too? dang.
six months-ish later & i'm rapidly outgrowing the shelves. on the one hand, i'm a collector & i like to have my stuff around me ... on the other, will i read any of these books again? my sources say NO. i'm not much of a re-reader these days, not like i was as a kid. plus some of what i'm reading is admittedly pulpy & pointless & really not worth hanging onto anyway. so i guess what i'm saying is maybe i need to declutter the shelves again.
besides, having too much stuff is for squares.
‘This is a mess’ Boba said
‘I know’ I sighed ‘this has become the room that all of our junk has got dumped in. Once it had been cleared it will become my bedroom’
Boba then helped me make a start to the mass declutter. We made really good progress today. Hopefully it will continue.

As you can see, I am a fan of big books! Love those books with many characters spanned over lots of generations. Those with some history and a liberal dose of imagination! Love it. These are two I am reading at the moment! These days I borrow from the library....meaty books like these are expensive...and I really do not need more books/possessions at home! Trying to declutter...not bring more in!

Multiple uses - Put your feet up or sit on the coffee table, store your stuff away to declutter, and a place to put your glass.
It's day 18 of my 30 Day "D" challenge, and today's project was to Declutter (yes, I'm adding "D's" as I go) the cabinet under my bathroom sink. It's a huge double-door cabinet with very little to get in the way of things, so I'd crammed it with multiple storage bins packed with all kinds of random bathroom-related items. Today I emptied it all out, Dumped or Donated all of the things I don't need, and kept just 3 small bins of lotions, potions, and necessities. Now I can actually find what's under there, my travel kit fits nicely, I can get to the spare Kleenex. . . it's actually a rather happy space.
The Zero Magazine–Volume 1
The Zero Magazine is a lifestyle editorial that tackles the perception of mass consumerism and negligence to waste production. The magazine upcycles material waste and utilises them as pages for the contents.
In the First Volume , plastic waste was the chosen material to be featured. We amass a gargantuan pit of plastic waste that has alarmed governmental agency to take action. From single-use plastic to micro-plastic waste, there were many wrongs that require a need to turn things right.
By scavenging waste around our environment, we can polish them and turn them into a valuable platform for readers to declutter their life and lead a Zero Waste lifestyle– before they trash things away.

Forgot to take a picture specifically for 366 group, so I'll have to use my picture when I was documenting my declutter day. We spent July 4th holiday doing chores. We got in so deep and over our heads, we didn't even go watch fireworks. sorry son!
The hubby was right in the middle of building our new shed, and then it looked like it was going to thunderstorm (which it did) anyhow. I found every bag in my mud room. I have way too many! I organized them on one strap that hangs on the inside of the coat closet. Now I don't have to look at bags hanging all over my mud room when I first enter the house.
Is there a way to change the date on Flickr to show images were taken on July 4th? Because I merged the two photos, it created a new photo date. My 366 PAD set doesn't sort correctly.
As your personal organizer, I will help you make positive choices to alter your physical surroundings to be organized, uncluttered and accessible.
When you plan to move out of town, downsize, or declutter your home space but are unwilling to let go of some unnecessary items that may prove to be potentially valuable shortly, you can consider using a temporary storage facility. You can save items for short and extended periods using the storage option. If your company is expanding, contracting, moving, or needs more space to store items, it's time to consider using a storage facility.
It´s hard, but it had to be. My beloved unused powerpuff girls pasta is going ( even if it had adorable mojo-jojo in squid ink flavour, awwww...). Expiration date was hmm september 2007 or something, so even if my kitchen is so much less cute, here goes! But a photo for the souvenir...
There was lots more a bit South of us, but we were walked out. This is for Charlotte. She lives in London, is a most fine lady, and likes ice. Probably because she lives where there is none to speak
of.
Once upon a time she turned me on to declutter, which I did not use then but started to use lately.
Like THIS. (Do It!)

I spent a bit of time looking into external hard disk storage this morning. As usual, it seems that more recent HDDs are more complex than they used to be, so I'll stick with what I've got, and have put 'declutter computer files' on my to do list! I'm pretty organised about such things (compared to some people, who don't even think about it!), but I'm sure there are things I'm keeping which I don't need to, and which be of no use or interest to anyone once I've gone!
I enjoyed swimming today - as I always do - and it was a fairly quiet session, so all the more enjoyable.
Then I went on to Witney to get some shopping in the town, and to visit a few charity shops, before going to Sainsbury's for the food shopping.
This evening, our son, daughter-in-law and grandson are coming for the weekend, from Southend. They're stopping on the way, to eat, so it'll be Frankie's bedtime when they arrive.

When it comes to keeping your family organized, you definitely need to ensure that your laundry is taken care of. There are many ways to keep organized and help ensure that your laundry gets adequately sorted and put away. One of the best tools you can choose is a collapsible laundry basket.
Collapsible laundry baskets are straightforward to use. They can be put into tight spaces, are easy to maneuver around the house with, and are more durable than other laundry baskets on the market.
If you're looking for a way to declutter, make sure you consider a collapsible laundry basket.
Uses for Your Collapsible Laundry Basket
There are many uses that you can find for your collapsible laundry basket. It's not just a way to transport laundry, but it's a way to store items. For example, you have too many kids' toys in the playroom, and you need a place for them to go. But a collapsible laundry basket is an excellent place for you to put them.
You could even use your collapsible laundry basket in your room as storage. For example, perhaps you have so many blankets you don't know where to put them. You can put them in your laundry basket. You can also go ahead and send your college-aged kids with collapsible laundry baskets. Your kids can quickly put them underneath their bed when they're not using them.

Standing in the kitchen making lunch today, I found myself moving the mortar and pestle yet again to gain a little more counter space. And as I moved it (again) I wondered why it was even ON the counter, because I've literally never used it in all the years I've owned it. (Ok, except as an iPhone stand, it was handy for that for a while.) So, off to the Donate box it goes!
About 25 years ago, the photographs were left to my parents in a Will by their next door neighbour of 30 years. At the time I said I'd look after them. Decluttering the attic I found the box with them all in. Many of them were taken in Norwich photography studios. I'm trying to date them as there's not much information on them. I guess they must be late 19C. They are not being added to the declutter pile. I'll carry on looking after them.
The kitchen will need to be redone eventually. The flooring is gross. Underneath would be the original hardwood flooring. Not sure what we will do with this room. Have an idea to knock out the wall on the right to exapnd the kitchen as there is alot of extra side yard space beyond it..then I could have a large dining area or many other possibilies...probably too expensive to do this though right now. sigh.. the present owner did not clean up/declutter any of the rooms on the first floor. Our hope is that once all the stuff is moved out, we will have time to do floors and paint before we move in.
