Much scary stuff removed - many out-of-date medicines, sunscreens, etc. Old and replaced mascara and eye shadow, a stack of worn out kids' hairbands, 5 boxes of band-aids into one, partial bits of conditioner and shampoo into current bottles.
Forgot to take a picture specifically for 366 group, so I'll have to use my picture when I was documenting my declutter day. We spent July 4th holiday doing chores. We got in so deep and over our heads, we didn't even go watch fireworks. sorry son!
The hubby was right in the middle of building our new shed, and then it looked like it was going to thunderstorm (which it did) anyhow. I found every bag in my mud room. I have way too many! I organized them on one strap that hangs on the inside of the coat closet. Now I don't have to look at bags hanging all over my mud room when I first enter the house.
Is there a way to change the date on Flickr to show images were taken on July 4th? Because I merged the two photos, it created a new photo date. My 366 PAD set doesn't sort correctly.
My sister collects glass flowers and gave me two ginormous ones that she didn't want anymore. I take this stuff to break, but I occasionally let the things sit around my house collecting dust before I smash it to smithereens.
I wish I could declutter my life. But I like things, especially colorful, beautiful things.
As your personal organizer, I will help you make positive choices to alter your physical surroundings to be organized, uncluttered and accessible.
Second go at water drop photos. Added a slightly larger tray to declutter the background, otherwise most of the effort was spent trying to reduce the flash power and therefore duration. Still using the Neewar triggers which means everything is manual. They're obviously not fully Canon compatible as they don't trigger in Live View which makes focus a bit fiddly. This photo was taken with the Flash on 1/16 power. Full power duration is 1/700s, not sure how it reduces. Poor old Cobra flash doesn't seem to have any manual control so this shot had one flash high right behind droplets.

It's the last day of my 30 Day challenge, and today, I decided to finish Dealing with the Dressers. At various points in the last 30 days I've cleaned out a Drawer here and there, and cut down on the amount of stuff in the three (yes, 3!) Dressers in my bedroom. Today I decided it was time for the final push to be able to replace the 2 large dressers with 2 small dressers (1 current, 1 new.) So I Dug through the last few Drawers that I hadn't sorted yet, and ended up with another pile of Donations. Then I removed 1 big Dresser, and put the small dresser in its place. It immediately made the room feel more open (not to mention I can reach the light switch now) and I can't wait to get the other big Dresser out and the 2nd small Dresser in its place (after yet another trip to Ikea, that is.)
Note - cat not included
I got rid of a juicer and a teapot I never use, as well as an ugly green Dutch oven. The toaster went on the shelf as we don't use it unless we have company.
She is wearing her default outfit from 2005 :)
It sorta feels bittersweet taking these photos but at the same time, I feel it must be done. I plan to sell Soye, my first BJD.
I've had her stored in the attic for a month and I didn't miss her at all. I'm trying to declutter my house and she deserves a home where she'll be loved and played with.

So after hanging the Christmas lights for the 20 years we've had them - they are now offically trash. We did declutter the garage of stacks n stacks of lights. I know it's not much but the last couple of months have been spent - going to Dr. appt. for my dad and spending lots of time with him and my mom - Cancer really sucks but it's brought us much closer and we appriciate each moment we get!!!
276/365 Friday 3 October 2014 - The last day of fine weather according to the forecasters. Tomorrow the sunflower maybe the only 'sun' thing in sight. After work I continued on the declutter/autumn clean with defrosting the freezer and some serious cleaning maintenance on the washing machine. (I caused and fixed a leak in the process.) Some you win, some you lose!

Hauled out the infill plane (I am a member of the FOYBIPO for OLDTOOLS mailing list denizens) to make sure I took best advantage of this quarter sawn heartwood poplar, a weird but lucky thing to find in the stack at the Depot. Naturally it was the last and only one left in its size, meaning people had left it behind, presumably because of the "weird" color. Their loss.

Self Storage is an excellent way to free up space in your home. It can also be used to declutter and find new uses for items you once collected but no longer require.
Many people cannot use their storage units for their daily needs because the storage room is full of items that do not belong there. If you live in a cluttered area, self-storage units can be a time-consuming process to manage. There are numerous methods for decluttering StorageStorage, so you can stop ignoring them! Here are some pointers for cleaning your storage unit.
Make a Strategy
Make a strategy for how you will store and organize your inventory within the storage unit. Purchase all packing supplies, including labels, boxes, and any bubble or protective paper wrap. Going in with a plan and a time/date to tackle the packing and moving will make things go much more smoothly.
Make use of climate-controlled Storage
Regarding storing your company's inventory, climate-controlled Storage is the way to go. Your items will be kept at stable temperatures and will not be subjected to high heat and humidity, harboring mold and bacteria and damaging certain materials permanently.
Always make sure the storage facility you use has climate-controlled units, even if you have to pay a premium for them. It will be worthwhile because your items will remain in perfect condition for StorageStorage.
Pack Items Properly
Take your time, and don't rush packing if you don't want to damage your inventory or have things go missing during the move. Pack carefully to ensure that nothing is damaged.
If necessary, use bubble wrap and substantial, heavy-duty plastic bins. Packing your items carefully will benefit you in the long run and make the transition easier because you won't have to worry about things breaking while in Storage.
Clean Your Items Before Storing
Before bringing your belongings into storage, give your belongings (especially upholstered items) a thorough cleaning. Unused furniture, clothing, and kitchen items can bring bugs, mold, and other foreign substances into a storage unit. These microscopic storage invaders can cause significant issues over time. Cleaning your belongings and storage unit before you start storing can make a big difference.
Wrap Fragile Objects
How do you pack and store fragile items? Before placing them in packing boxes, they should be wrapped in bubble wrap, newspaper, or both. This will help to avoid unsightly cracks, chips, and other damage. (We recommend double or triple wrapping for particularly exposed parts of fragile items to increase stability and prevent breakage.) Smaller fragile items can also be packed among clothes or other soft belongings for added cushioning.
Mark boxes to make them easier to find
Instead of trying to decipher markings on boxes weeks later when you open them, you can use different coloured tags to identify boxes that require special attention. That way, you won't have to go through each one to find a couple of items. Label flat surfaces or more excellent areas with chalkboard or dry-erase paint to help you remember where you put things.

I got rid of old floral foam, tiny flower pots, cooling racks I never use, a couple of bowls I didn't even recognize, and an old ice shaver...
The red pan is DH's fudge pan. Fudge is all that pan is used for, so it is stored here and not with my often-used pots and pans.
As you can see, I am a fan of big books! Love those books with many characters spanned over lots of generations. Those with some history and a liberal dose of imagination! Love it. These are two I am reading at the moment! These days I borrow from the library....meaty books like these are expensive...and I really do not need more books/possessions at home! Trying to declutter...not bring more in!

Curly
My craft room had become cluttered and in need of organization. Netflix has been showing Marie Kondo's decluttering show. I watched it and started to declutter and organize my room. I think there must have been subliminal hints or she hypnotized me!
I found a sweater in a drawer and started to deconstruct it. Voila - curly strands of yarn. We moved to Raleigh, NC from Omaha, NE. No need for wool sweaters anymore. This is the second sweater I have taken down to the yarn.
I added a texture layer and a frame. I desaturated the color of the yarn. You can see the original image on my flickr page: www.flickr.com/photos/needlepointernc/?
