Cotton-PUL outer. Slightly wash faded, otherwise in good condition.

This must be the favourite position of 21st-century tourists. When we travel, we photograph or video with abandon - everything and anything. On package tours, it's usually the guide who tells the group to get off the coach, and in a few allocated minutes get a picture of a famous landmark or building. And like trained pets, all the tourists flock out to click away. If I can help it, I avoid package tours like the plague...

Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to collect all the pictures of one popular spot, taken in the course of one day? Millions of travellers posing at slightly different positions and angles. Maybe somebody has already compiled a project that like. How many of us ever look at our accumulated digital travel pictures more than once - possibly a few times, to show (and bore to death!) family and friends on return? And yet, it's so easy, and practically free - why wouldn't we do it? It's quite a job to ruthlessly discard and edit your pictures, and keep your files organized. For me, net publishing helps tremendously to declutter my digital photos. It would also be interesting to see how long digital photos can be preserved. I have already read speculations that, where old prints fade and discolour, digital photos are likely to just unpixelate at some point.

Inspired by Andy's example, I decided to clean up my computer tonight, make a full backup, and declutter my desktop while I was at it.

I try to declutter everything else but my photos around my desk have to stay

One of my goals this week was to organize my messy trunk. It had become the catch-all for all sort of random things.

333/365 Friday 29 November 2013 - I started a major craft/sewing clean out/declutter. I came across these vintage buttons a cousin sent me years ago. So pretty.

On the advice of her shrink, 22-year-old Londoner Georgia Horrocks is trying to declutter her mind by selling her imaginary friend on eBay! “I have recently come to the decision that it is time to sell my imaginary friend Bernard who was created during a time of emotional instability,” Georgia wrote in the eBay listing. So, last week the lovely Maisy Mouse and Toby came over for a play date. The boys were playing so nicely that lunch extended into tea time. Oh, and she helped me with my badly needed declutter by accepting a bag of E's handmedowns. One of the things we chatted about was how it's not fun being a grown up and having to spend your money on boring things that you need rather than exciting things that you want (a new mattress v a wide angle lens was my case in point).

Imagine my delight when I opened the post today to find an, erm, actually I don't know what it's called, it's like a kind of wide angle equivalent of a macro filter if you see what I mean. What an incredibly thoughtful and super cool thank you present is that?! I'm bowled over and can't wait to play with it properly.

Top shot, no wide angle filter thingy. Bottom shot, with wide angle filter thingy.

One of a collection of Japanese netsuke I've just listed on eBay. They've been in a box in a cupboard for ages and not on display so during a radical declutter they went on the "things to eBay" pile.

Netsuke were used in Japan when people wore kimono that had no pockets. They would hang a small sectioned box (an inro) from their sash in order to store small quantities of things like snuff or tobacco. The netsuke was the toggle that slipped through the sash to keep the dangling inro in place. They were always carved into decorative items and are quite collectible in their own right now.

This one is rather nice boxwood and part of a collection of rat/mice netsuke. Hopefully someone out there'll fall for them and I'll clear a little more space to buy other stuff! (Ed. Doh! Surely it's not supposed to work that way?)

Just copying the description from the other shots.

Today Andy and I went to the Driving Range, which was hliarious! Of course, i forgot to take a selfie at the time, so tonight you get a very old golf ball, part of a set of very old golf balls ditched in this week's declutter.

David installed this for me for better ventilation. He modified an IKEA hood we got at sale and installed it on it's back leading out through the window. He added some type of foam so that the little heat I have in the studio wouldn't vanish straight through. And when I use it I just remove that part. He also added some lights in some pvc pipes. Now I just need some type of screen roof thing above to make sure everything gets sucked out.

In an effort to declutter the kitchen, and to keep them from getting random grease from cooking on them, and to give the fridge better airflow... I moved my cookbooks and cooking magazines to the basement library. Then because I am obsessive I stacked the magazines in date order since 2000. ^_^

Before.... A frightening terrible disaster... (most of the stuff piled on the right hand side is the landlady's, and has to stay there)

A few years ago, I bought this Daruma from an Asian grocery store. Back then, I had a lot of goals that I want to accomplished thus I did not know what to wish or focus on.

As I looked back last year 2017, what I notice was I wanted to improve my self. But I must start from inside. So I read a lot of self help books. My mind must be at the right set before I can do anything. I spent most of my morning reading first. Like how to become a goal oriented person, how to not procrastinate, how to set goals, how to say NO, how to care less but only care what I want, etc. Then I use bujo to help me become a goal oriented person.

This year 2018, I wanted to declutter my house. What I notice is that my morning has a lot of visual cues coming into my brain. Ideally I would like to have calm morning to start the day, but that doesn’t happen very often. As I declutter my stuff what I notice is that I am able to focus, I am a bit calmer (that’s rare).

I don’t have a room that’s dedicated for me anymore. My room is now my daughter room. So my stuff is everywhere all around the house thus contributing to clutter. Crafting time is rare nowadays with toddler.

I think once my house is in good happy condition I can start focusing on my craft, my work (like studying be more productive) and better Mom for my daughter.

Já que não fiz declutter no banheiro (porque não tinha o que jogar fora), ataquei os arquivos do escritório. Saiu um saco cheio de recibos, fotos, manuais e cds desnecessários.

I begin my day by strolling in the park, reconnecting with the world around me. The feeling of the outside air and the warm embrace of the tropical sun on my skin remind me of life's simple pleasures.

I recognize the battle within, the struggle to clear my head and find solace in the mundane tasks. I'm teaching myself to cherish small moments.

I'm searching for the opportunity to reconnect my mind and body.

I set out to declutter a space by letting go of the unnecessary. To rid myself of the emotional baggage. And to create art by infusing my mundane life with creativity and beauty to find the extraordinary. Finally, the splash in the pool symbolises rejuvenation and renewal.

I'm immensely grateful for this opportunity to embark on a journey of self-discovery and well-being, one small step at a time.

Whoa, it's already day 15 of my 30 Day project, that means I'm halfway done! In honor of the milestone, today I decided to Deal with the last under-cabinet light for the kitchen originally mentioned on Day 1. So I dug the light out of the kitchen junk drawer, the 3M strips and hooks out of the tool kit, and got it all hooked up. I even cleaned and re-arranged the little counter while I was there.

I got some serious clutter-clearing done today. To see the "BEFORE" picture, go to www.43things.com/things/view/876805.
