The original deck was approximately 12'x12' (24 sq ft) and built when the house was constructed. It lacked character and had limited space for entertaining. For those hot summer days the owners installed a 24' pool and wanted a deck that would maximize their backyard, provide ample amount of space for entertaining, and be low maintenance. We proposed the following design. A bi-level deck finished with a composite material (TrexTR) that would look great and address their needs for entertaining, storage, and low maintenance. The upper level deck is approx 15'x 15 and the lower platform 30'x15' for a total of 675 sq ft. The two staircases provide easy access to and from the yard. The gates are self closing and there are two removable access panels below the deck, one on each side, for easy access to storage.
Deck U houses the Warp Core. Next are two massive storage/conversion units for hydrogen, to convert it into usable deuterium. Next is an air recycling room, with a hatch to the sub-deck below. This is followed by two communications arrays, and finally the single turbolift station.
The deck was built a year before the pond. The deck was replacing an existing deck that had begun to rot. The new edifice had over a ton of concrete just in the post holes! The surface area when finished was over 900 square feet, and encompassed three levels.

Better lighten the deck
Finding the two geese sisters (who are solid white) will be a challenge today, or so it seems. Toward sundown, the geese always go to Cove Park to be at the ferry dock and right at the tide line. If its dark, then I will listen for a quack for directions to my friends. They are especially glad during this time of year to be given some whole grain bread.

Funky funky 'concept decks'.
I love the scratched surface of used skateboards and wanted to integrate that feeling into some fresh new designs.
Nothing fancy here. My son got some Tech Decks, and I used them to work out some flash issues I've been having. I don't work with flash often, but when I do, it's usually wireless. I've had trouble figuring out how to adjust the power level of the flash when it's wireless. That's easy to adjust on the flash when it's connected, but was alluding me when wireless. God forbid I should read the owner's manual. I finally found that adjustment, in the camera settings, under the Built-In Flash>Commander Mode menu. I felt elated and stupid, all at the same time.

Deck Boxes are expensive, so I built one.
