Generally I would discard an image like this because of its lack of sharpness, but I thought I would show this one to illustrate what was going on at Sunset Park yesterday. The ice was very thin, but there were sizable fish laying on top of the ice all over the place. I assumed that the fish did not know there was ice and would attempt to breach the surface. They would bust through the ice but then just lay trapped on top of it becoming easy prey for gulls and eagles. I noticed that there were holes in the ice next to the fish which supported my theory. This shot seem to validate that. It shows a fish that got stuck on its way through the ice. It made for an easy pickings for this eagle.

Caught this stunning song thrush as dusk approached it was pondering on what berry to have next ( sloe won ).
Sad to say that the once familiar song thrush is now on the rspbs red list .Lets hope they make a great recovery !!

It's just not fair. After stuffing myself on great Brazilian barbecue, they bring around the dessert tray. I went with the chocolate cake.
This weekend we were out with friends wandering around the streets of London. As you might imagine, we spent loads of time also underground...and it was a really good opportunity to snap around. I hope you like the results.

Returned to my happy place in the mountains and the first thing I do is call for the blue jay stellars and throw them peanuts. They always arrive within a minute! Sounds like I am a crazy bird lady but you know, I think I am!
Regional a cargo de 592-212 + 592-220 procedente de Valencia-Estación del Norte y con destino en Madrid-Atocha Cercanías a su paso por el viaducto de El Roquillo (Buñol).
Hoy vienen los Reyes Magos siguiendo la vía fugaz hasta Madrid, repartiendo regalos allá por las urbanizaciones, pueblos y ciudades que recorrerán en sus largos 401 km. Sin embargo, esta vez son dos Camellos, pues Gaspar se ha cogido un catarro y se ha tenido que quedar descansando en la casa de la izquierda mientras que su camello se ha tenido que quedar apartado en la estación de Buñol jajajaja.
Bueno, veía necesario hacer la bromita, lo veía bastante oportuno para el día aún sin saber si era más oportuna ayer u hoy.
Bromas a parte, desde memorables épocas sabemos que concretamente este viaducto ha sido uno de los más emblemáticos que ha tenido Valencia en el ámbito ferroviario, y que aún lo sigue siendo, por su curiosa montura preparada para que por encima transite una curva. Llama la atención mucho este detalle y más por la época en la que fue construido. Pero sin embargo, no todo es bueno, y como curiosidad, para locomotoras como las 333, requiere de unas condiciones para cruzar. Por lo que tengo entendido, la última vez que esto sucedió, tuvieron que pasar a 5 km/h y con el depósito medio lleno, pues no aguanta más peso y en las ocasiones que se ha dado se ha tenido que efectuar este protocolo. Este, junto a otros dos viaductos de este trayecto, son el principal motivo de que no puedan circular trenes de mercancías habitualmente por la línea.
El día que vine aquí estuve desde que amaneció hasta que anocheció fuera, pero valió la pena por llevarme esta y otras pocas fotos. El caso es que tenía ganas de subir a Buñol pero cuando iba a coger el tren me di cuenta de que no tenía dinero para la vuelta, así que tomé la decisión de volver en bicicleta hasta Valencia Ciudad haciendo un total de 50 km exactos en los cuales paré en medio a comerme unas naranjas y tirarle foto al 100 en línea AV. Un viaje bastante chulo del cual no me arrepiento y que me ha servido para conocer más sitios por los que moverme si me quedo tirado, como es este caso desde Buñol, ruta que tenía ganas de ingeniarme para hacer unas salidas más sanas y deportivas además de la escalada quw ya practico en estos sitios jajajaja.
