A desire does not change anything. A decision changes everything.

A peregrination of hikers planning their route on Cwm Idwal on a damp but delightful morning.

The sunrise never occurred, the clouds never left and the sun never shone, but hey, you can't have everything! All in all, a pretty good morning.

Going through some images taken a few years back, converted this one to BW , did a few other edits and found it a lot more impactful now.

A tough decision for which I begin ....

Yesterday evening on the ... still frozen but melting fast ... Keefer Lake

A lady with many suitors .... we watched the passionate antics for quite a while as the light faded but she still hadn't chosen the lucky duck. There was a 4th drake/male about 20 feet back but I don't think he was in the running ... or perhaps he was especially clever and playing hard to get just like the hen?

Rosa suggested that she might just as well keep them all - something about 'variety is the spice of life.' :)

Yogi Berra once said, "when you come to a fork in the road, take it." Yet, some decisions aren't that easy to make. Here, it was pretty simple: choose the beautiful way or the just-as-beautiful way. I like games where there are no losers.

Charlie loves being a big brother as you can obviously see.

This is Tex with him. He is the kitten Charlie picked as his own, although at times I think he regrets that decision as Tex is by far the naughtiest.

Charlie really does miss Squirty, despite having the tabby boys. It seems to me that Charlie considers the tabby's as kids but Squrity was his best friend, his mate and he misses having his mate around.

I couldn't decided today if I post a sunset image or a bird image. Then I recalled I have this one.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I just love his expression, to me it looks like he is weighing up some options. Enjoy!

Contemplating the artwork of the rather wonderful Robert Indiana at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park earlier in the year. Seems very prescient …

A decision tree is a visual representation of all possible options and consequences that can result as a result of an action. The branches are directed and ordered. Each of the interventions follows branches that represent the possible events with the associated probabilities of occurrence. At the end of the decision tree, each path leads to an outcome. This shows an easily understandable representation of the decision-making and allows the actor to evaluate the result and recognize key attributes.

However, decision options or possible consequences in relation to environmental factors, risks, probability of occurrence, etc. must be known.

Transferred to our bird in the photo it could sound as follows:

A little bird sits, a sight unseen upon a branch high and free,

Beside a grand, old decision tree.

The tree stands tall, its branches wide,

With choices branching side by side.

The bird chirps a song so bright,

Guiding through the paths of light.

"Shall I soar to skies unknown,

Or nestle where the seeds are sown?"

The tree replies with wisdom deep,

"In your heart, the answers keep."

Each branch a choice, each leaf a fate,

The bird decides, it won't wait.

With wings outstretched, it takes to flight,

Into the dawn, chasing the light.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Enjoy!

In life we can make the wrong decisions, it happens. Only in hindsight do we kick ourselves and wish we had taken another path. If we are lucky we are spared this self incrimination and are oblivious to what could have been. On the flip side when we get it right we just know it. The morning I took this photo I got it right. I luckily hadn’t travelled inland to catch the snow, my normal decision as it usually turns to rain by the coast. As light snow started to fall I was walking Toby, so I decided to cut that short and get my gear. As I headed out down the street I was going to a local nature reserve, by the time I reach end of it I remembered the wintering Exmoor ponies on the hill and I changed direction. After a mile and half I reach the hill while it was still dark and heavy snow was falling, the rest is history, as testament by the photos I keep posting. Now the question is, did that pony follow his mate down the hill, decisions, decisions.

Thanks for taking the time to view my image. Your comments, faves & constructive criticism are greatly appreciated.

you can't have the green one, that's mine :)

I left them as is, didn't want to disturb perfection.

There was for one fleeting moment, that I genuinely thought this lunatic in the speedboat was on some kind of suicide mission, it was of course an optical illusion, but at the speed and intial direction the boat was moving, I thought my photo would end up as forensic evidence! I also thought that this must be the bane of every large ship Captain's job. In the end the little speedboat zipped along on the inside, (Port Side) of the incredibly impressive Botnia Enabler, Europe's largest most advanced RO-RO Vessel.

I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you! :)

We turned left but now I'm wondering what we missed, will have to check it out on Google street view :)
