Even in SL - problems can come to visit. But unlike Real Life..... "Mute and de-render" can make many of those problems go away :-)

Por cual empiezo

A tough decision for which I begin ....

Well, I strained a groin muscle about two miles back and have been favoring my left leg through some pretty good ups and downs and my right leg is screaming at me, but now with Indian Bar in sight and knowing If I go down there I'll have to a) climb back up and then b) finish the last seven miles I had a decision to make.

Of course I kept going! :-)

Thanks for stopping by my little piece of the world, I don't say that enough.

In life we can make the wrong decisions, it happens. Only in hindsight do we kick ourselves and wish we had taken another path. If we are lucky we are spared this self incrimination and are oblivious to what could have been. On the flip side when we get it right we just know it. The morning I took this photo I got it right. I luckily hadn’t travelled inland to catch the snow, my normal decision as it usually turns to rain by the coast. As light snow started to fall I was walking Toby, so I decided to cut that short and get my gear. As I headed out down the street I was going to a local nature reserve, by the time I reach end of it I remembered the wintering Exmoor ponies on the hill and I changed direction. After a mile and half I reach the hill while it was still dark and heavy snow was falling, the rest is history, as testament by the photos I keep posting. Now the question is, did that pony follow his mate down the hill, decisions, decisions.

*hums* if I only had a brain for the thousandth time today

Aphid Parasitoid Wasp (Trioxys complanatus) female

She was watching the Aphids on the leaf, no doubt choosing one to lay her eggs in.

There was for one fleeting moment, that I genuinely thought this lunatic in the speedboat was on some kind of suicide mission, it was of course an optical illusion, but at the speed and intial direction the boat was moving, I thought my photo would end up as forensic evidence! I also thought that this must be the bane of every large ship Captain's job. In the end the little speedboat zipped along on the inside, (Port Side) of the incredibly impressive Botnia Enabler, Europe's largest most advanced RO-RO Vessel.

I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you! :)

We turned left but now I'm wondering what we missed, will have to check it out on Google street view :)

seen on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington earlier this year.

It's amazing how a seemingly small decision can change your life.

This is an image I took before falling last Sunday and breaking my shoulder.

At this point I decided that shooting into the sun wasn't ideal as it was pretty bright so headed down the falls.

In hindsight I should of decided to wait until the sun got lower.

Got a bit of a long slog to get back to full fitness but happy with this shot as this is an amazing place and I am privileged to able to witness scenes like this even if the camera struggles with the light range.

I now realise that I didn't fall and break my shoulder but fell with camera and tripod in hand and dislocated it which caused the break whilst falling or trying to stop it going into water.

Impressed that the camera seems to have dried out and working as Canon aren't great for sealing.

CHEF bethrosengard challenges us to create a “retail fantasy”!

Your background must consist of some kind of retail product display.

Include at least one object in the display that is out of place.

And at least one creature (human and/or animal) that is totally out of context.

As a last step, apply a filter or texture to the entire image that gives a sense of unreality or illusion or fantasy to the scene.

NO VEHICLE DISPLAYS such as car lots.

you can't have the green one, that's mine :)

I left them as is, didn't want to disturb perfection.

The last days of 2020 are upon us. This family were engrossed in how to cross the estuary at the point it flowed into the sea. A small decision, yet a premonition of the many that we will be making in the new year.

Thanks for taking the time to view my image. Your comments, faves & constructive criticism are greatly appreciated.

It's just not fair. After stuffing myself on great Brazilian barbecue, they bring around the dessert tray. I went with the chocolate cake.

Generally I would discard an image like this because of its lack of sharpness, but I thought I would show this one to illustrate what was going on at Sunset Park yesterday. The ice was very thin, but there were sizable fish laying on top of the ice all over the place. I assumed that the fish did not know there was ice and would attempt to breach the surface. They would bust through the ice but then just lay trapped on top of it becoming easy prey for gulls and eagles. I noticed that there were holes in the ice next to the fish which supported my theory. This shot seem to validate that. It shows a fish that got stuck on its way through the ice. It made for an easy pickings for this eagle.

We decided to finish our work on this borehole. To do this, we had to stay there until night. It was a bad decision. We expected to return home following our tires prints, which were clearly visible in the deep snow. In addition, the lights at the livestock farm about seven kilometers from us served as a guide. It soon began to snow storm and in 5 minutes later our previous tires prints completely disappeared and visibility reduced to 10 meters. I reduced tyre pressure upto 8.5 psi (0.6 at) and drove very slowly. It only seems that the steppe is a flat surface. There are often deep ravines with steep slopes and other obstacles. Sometimes the truck would lurch more and more to right or port side. Therefore, I had to include the rear gear to get back on a level surface. It was useless to go out and see what was the matter, as the snow was knee-deep and more. Decided to stop and spend the night on some elevated place, where snow was smaller. And it was the right decision.

Kazakh steppes. Winter, 1978

This weekend we were out with friends wandering around the streets of London. As you might imagine, we spent loads of time also underground...and it was a really good opportunity to snap around. I hope you like the results.

Thank you all for your appreciation.
