i love seeing the layers of building exteriors and interiors, especially when a house has been partially knocked down.
i took this in nice, france. i love the parallel lines of the pipes as well as the sign writing and graffiti barely visible underneath.

Moins connue que les sidérurgies et autres charbonnages, l'industrie textile fut d'une importance majeure dans la région de Liège. Depuis le 18e siècle jusqu'en 1914, la filature et le tissage de la laine pour la draperie font la fortune de Verviers et des communes aux alentours. La renommée mondiale de laine verviétoise est essentiellement due à l'eau douce de la rivière. Cette industrie déclina après la deuxième guerre mondiale.
Suite aux avancées scientifiques et à la découverte de nouveaux procédés chimiques, il était désormais possible d’obtenir une eau douce partout dans le monde. Aujourd'hui, la majorité des industries textiles de la région de Verviers ont disparu alors que quelques-unes attendent encore d'être détruites…

A garland of roses well past its use by date at Wat Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai. Unfortunately you don't get to choose your backgrounds as a tourist but I think the bricks almost work with the colour drained from them. Drained as much colour as possible from the garland without going black and white to give it an even more decayed look and then a vignette to make the the centre flowers the focus.
This is one of the many buildings in the commercial hub of Colombo aka Pettah, that is decaying for quite a long time. But dont go by the looks of these buildings, business worth many a millions happen in these very same old n rusty buildings on a daily basis.
Last weekend the third edition of the underground art festival Ground took place in Den Haag.
Aptly titled Ground 3, the festival took me to abandoned warehouses, cellars and rusty factories.
