naturally decay at work, and the evidence of new growth

Pink Dog-Wood Flower, starting too Decay.

Found on my porch after a storm. The rest of the plant is fine.

The remains of the pier at Llanbedrog quarry on Abersoch beach in North Wales. The image is a HDR of three images taken at +-2 stops, so that I could get more of the grain to appear in the wood. The sky was lovelly on this cold winters morning.

The USS Moctobi (ATF-105) and USS Quapaw (ATF-110), now renamed Lion and Tiger, are naval ocean tugs which were commissioned during World War II. They also served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. They were decommissioned in 1985.

They have been slowly decaying in Richmond Shipyard No. 3, the old Kaiser Shipyard, for many years.

I wrote an app to preserve only the in-focus parts of a photo image.

You might like to zoom in on the intricate details in the broad top part of this unusual fallen leaf – noticed on the ground among many others too plain to invite closer inspection. iPhone 8+ photo.

(Set down on a concrete or composite imitation stone seat plank of a bench next to the main trail on the Miccosukee Greenway on the eastside of Tallahassee, Florida.)

The Gisborne wool store. long gone are the glory days of wool exports from Tokomaru Bay, slowly being reclaimed by decay and the elements. A very interesting place to walk around.

Not my usual landscape type of photography but I found the damage and destruction of the Colosseum in Rome quite interesting. Most people probably don't notice it without really looking at it.

I just hope it never collapses so everyone has a chance to see it.

This was also taken during Daniel's visit not too long ago. And this is one of my favorite places for urban decay and this particular section has so many possibilities that I'm going back again for more!
