This is my Day-Of-The-Dead Jewelry Box. It started as an old broken jewelry box. I covered it with pics of the usual skulls, skeletons & the like. I "glittered" a plastic skeleton, broke him into pieces & attached them. When you open the box . . .instead of a twirling ballerina, there's a glittery black skull turning & sparkleing.
Skulls Measures 6" tall and 4.5" wide
The skull comes with a hook on the back for easy hanging on the wall
The skull is made of Plaster of Paris and it has been hand painted very carefully with colorful paints. The detail is amazing on this skull and will for sure impress everyone. It has a clear coat for protection.
This skull will look great everyone you place it. Ready to be displayed!

In Mexico the Day of the Dead honors those who have passed and is an occasion for joy and celebration of their lives.
I may be starting to listen to Christmas music, but I’m folding for Halloween and Day of the Dead. #365origamichallenge #origami #morigami #skull #mask #dayofthedead #diadelosmuertos
Created in anticipation of Day of the Dead. Spinach quesadilla on a bed of spinach, with radish, pepper, yellow carrot, and purple cabbage decorations. Delicious.

I don't usually post work in progress shots, but I'm not sure why that is. I think the creative process is usually as exciting as the finished product.
I sketch my calaveras before I begin, and I do paint the colored parts on the face before filling in the white. I think it might be a bit more difficult, but I like to give myself the option of leaving "holes" in the face up and I try to keep the paint as thin as possible to look a bit more like make up. This girl should be done very soon!
