A jetlagged photo from Heathrow after a red-eye flight. Time to crawl home and get some sleep.

My park is on fire. Griffith Park. Where I run and bike and visit the Zoo. I'm 7 miles from the fire and there is a terrible acrid smell in the air. I won't be able to do much outside until the fire is out and some major gust of wind blows the smoke away. Sad, sad day.

Day21 black

My long suffering baby sister modelling a winter hat, for two groups - black and the Scavenger Hunt.

We both liked the high key result...

Day 21 of 365 self portraits and I'm lost in thought... thinking about Hot Wings at the Cactus Club.

Schadenfreude (noun) Happiness at the misfortune of others.

This I promise is not my present state of mind. It is true that the misfortune of another - my uncle Philip - brings me to Melbourne this week.

My Mother's tennis-mad brother and wife Marie make an annual trip to Melbourne for the Australian Open Tennis.

So it was to be this week but because of a badly infected toe he is unable to walk and they have reluctantly decided not to make the journey. It is hard to feel anything but extremely sad for them.

I also feel extremely grateful at being able to share in the accommodation and tickets to the quarter finals he was to have used.

So today my mother, aunt, Theatre Boy and I flew from Brisbane to Melbourne. Theatre Boy and I will attend tomorrow's day session and the Wednesday night games. The Ladies the other two sessions.

Of course Melbourne has much more to offer than tennis so this afternoon the boy and I went off and hit the shops. This is what we saw in the Australia on Collins arcade.

Amaze-Balls it's called and that's exactly what I consider the whole opportunity.

Thanks Uncle Philip and get well soon.

Nice to see the rain today. #Project365

William and Nan have a special bond. I can't even describe it. The two of them light up when they see each other. I love watching the two of them together.

We went out for lunch with Nan today. Our order took for FREAKIN ever! Mr William was not impressed by any means. I tried just about everything to keep him busy and quiet. I gave him a sip of my water, then he wanted to hold the huge it himself. Ya.. not gonna work. Then I gave him crayons. Crayons... looked like candy to him. So, I gave him a pen which he would continually throw at the table next to us or on the floor and then get really upset if I took it away from him. I gave him fruitloops. Apparently, he was not in the mood for fruitloops. I gave him a fruit bar.. that was good but did not cure the growl that was in his stomach. Agh.... bring us our freakin meal. I was almost ready to tell the waiter to keep the food and go somewhere else. When finally he came with it.

I'm including a shot in the comments. I think the expression on Nan's face says it all.

Thank goodness for nap time!!

Let_it_go_Day21: yup, another Frozen themed party, from saturday 02/08/15. This was actually pretty cute I'd say, the daughter, 4 year old, had a father and daughter dance. Kinda sweet

Day 21 of 365

Yesterday I posted a Mayan Calendar. Today brings a photo of my obsidian idols purchased in the same village of Kaua. Obsidian is said to scare away evil spirits.

Couldn't get a decent shot of the cardinal in the tree so I went for second best.

The original cream lampshades sported a tear and had been customised with with red wine, biro and cat hairs. These ones look much better.

This was a flea market find, an old walnut sugar mold - now sanded, oiled, and equipped with copper inserts and candles
