This is the 2nd image from last night.
The light had changed so much in just 10 minutes, and soon after this one the rain moved in. I think my tripod sank down in the wet sand a little during the exposure, as it is not very sharp. D'oh!! Onwards and upwards!

Re-edit
I uploaded these so quickly the other night I barely had a chance to think about how to improve them.
Upped the contrast levels and the blacks too, and I reckon it looks more like it should now.

Every so often something really special happens with this photography lark that makes all of the effort massively worth while.
I am so proud to announce that a book on Channel Islands photographers has just gone on sale, and incredibly I am one of the 20 photographers featured in it. AMAZING!! ;o) (featuring some of my light paining work and photography from my Small World series).
Seeing my photography sitting alongside the work of so many talented local photographers has been one of the coolest feelings ever. Thanks so much to Ormerland for taking such an interest in me and my work - I am hugely flattered.

One from a couple of nights ago. It is weird, as the LEDs give off different hues in different weather conditions?! This looked more purple last week, and more more pink. Fair enough!

Oh oh - shortly after I took these photos a rogue wave decided to surprise me and my gear. My 5D MK II has decided to behave rather strangely ever since (taking photos at random, and continually trying to focus as it keeps beeping!) - so it's off to Canon you go!

Throughout 2018 I have been busy working on a new photographic project in Scotland using my miniature figurines (the 'Little People').
My main hope is that this new series of photographs will help highlight the plastic / litter epidemic our country (and planet) is suffering from. Littering in general has always sickened me, and the 'Blue Planet II effect' really made me feel like I too could help highlight the issue using my own unique approach.
Earlier this year, I spent several days collecting bags full of plastic and rubbish that had been discarded (or washed up) next to beaches and lochs on the west coast of Scotland, mostly 'beauty' spots. I kept some of this plastic to make my work (recycling the rest) and returned to the banks of Loch Lomond a couple of months ago to photograph my latest series - LIFE IN PLASTIC.

This Sandtrooper and Greedo were glued to the box for hours last night!
In order to try and do something a little bit different back in July / August time (and to try and keep my work feeling fresh), I decided that it would be a good idea to create some new housing / accommodation for my Star Wars characters. As much as they enjoyed being photographed in my back garden and on my table-top they would NOT shut up about getting onto the property ladder...
They were all looking a little cramped inside my toy box anyways and they seem to be very happy with their new digs, for now at least! ;o)
Plenty more photographs to follow from inside the Big Brother Star Wars house......

A very rushed attempt at something much larger that I will soon be working on. I literally had 1 hour tonight to play around, and so thought I would quickly lay down the basis of what I have been thinking about. The triangle will soon grow, and hopefully look a lot more accurate than tonight's very rushed effort. It may even turn into a game of snooker...

It's a Small World.
Well that's it then! It feels like a great achievement to have seen this project through to the bitter end through good times and bad but it sure feels good to have the last one in the bag!
Red circles formed with the amazing led lenser v24 and writing done with a coast A15. All created in camera.
I'd just like to say a massive THANK YOU to everybody who has taken an interest in my work throughout this year and for all the comments, favourites and encouragement you have given me, without which I don't think this photo a day lark would have been quite so easy!
A special thank you goes to a few people on here who I've shared this year in photos with
It's been a real help to have other like minded people doing the same thing and make some good friends along the way!

I still have quite a few photos to upload over the coming days - taking a photo a day does not seem to be the problem, it's finding the time to edit them and get them online that is virtually impossible at the moment :O)
